About this ebook
Drugs, Theft, and Deaths is a collection of five short stories by Cole Jordan. There are dark comedies derived from serious situations, and suburban fantasies defined by the paranormal.
"Interpersonal" is about a man named Mark, who is being confronted as to why he left his old friend a few years ago. Mark's friend may never get the answer he wants, but he will get one he needs.
"Dare" is the story of Josh, who just wanted to forget the world for a night. After misinterpreting a dare from his friend and drug dealer, Matt, Josh is confronted by a malicious spirit who now owns his soul, Bell. Matt and Bell now have to explain what this means for a distraught Josh.
In "Rodley and Purple," an academically inclined college student, Rodley, is visiting Purple, his girlfriend, during Fall Break. Purple informs Rodley that the shed they used to hang out in when they were younger has been locked by the city, so Bodley wants answers. He ends up uncovering a secret the mayor was hiding inside the shed, and he needs to do something about it.
"Real Police" details the events of a museum security guard's worst day ever. Frank can not seem to catch a break when it comes to respect. His wife yelled at him in front of the kids, he got bumped into on the street, and the janitor ignored him after Frank had just greeted him. Frank's day will only get worse when he realises that he will not be able to help the curator put a new exhibit on display.

Isat down on the grass next to where Mark was lying. I had not seen Mark in a few years, and it showed. I sat quietly for a what seemed to be a half hour before finally breaking the silence between us.
Mark, have you thought about what it means to be human?
I asked.
He did not reply.
I have,
I replied to myself, "all this pain and regret, that does not define me. What defines me is whether to let the pain control me or not. The last two years of my life has been defined by constant darkness, with my mind clouded. A
