Tao Wong is a Canadian author based in Toronto who is best known for his System Apocalypse post-apocalyptic LitRPG series and A Thousand Li, a Chinese xianxia fantasy series. He was shortlisted for the UK Kindle Storyteller award in 2021 for A Thousand Li: The Second Sect. When he's not writing and working, he's practicing martial arts, reading, and dreaming up new worlds.

I knew better, but I did it anyway. What can I say? I’ve always been a weak man.
When I first gained my Powers, I was thirty-eight and a loser. Sure, I had a decent job managing logistics for a multi-national company, but it wasn’t an important job. All I did was make sure the containers from one factory made it to another.
Yes, it was both more and significantly less complicated than that. But compared to someone like the Paragon or the Vigilante? Capes who had saved the world over and over again?
Loser.
It’s hard, living in a world where gods in all but name walk the earth. Where celebrities who are famous for nothing more than being famous and pretty, or having a cool – or different – Power, exist. Where the rich flaunt their wealth, the conmen tell you how small you are, and the religious rant about how we’re all going to hell. Where meteors rain down upon you
