MOTHER’S LESSONS
Introduction
In this humongous world, there are different types of female. There is a girl,
a woman and a mother. A girl is the naive stage of a woman. In this stage,
the girl is still developing and is trying to figure out who she is. She later
discovers that she is a woman because she came out of a man and is
different in so many things. A girl moves to become a woman when she is
able to make a decision to have a baby. This stage is very confusing because
one is able to have a child but is not able to care for it. The ability to care
for children and take care of a home makes one a mother. This title is
automatic for women with those qualities, whether they can get their own
biological children or not. Mothers are important figures in the life of every
individual. They are known as a gift and their words mirror the future of an
upright society. There are however some people who do not love their
mothers because of various reasons. These are reasons best known to them
and we cannot change the reasons. All in all, a mother remains a mother and
no one can buy another biological mum. This however, does not erase the
fact that mothers are known to nurture and care for their children. In fact,
they deny themselves so many luxuries so that their children can prevail. A
woman that sacrificed so much for you, whether she is your biological
mother or not, qualifies to be called mother.

This kind of sacrifice cannot be found in an ordinary woman. It needs grace
and most of the time, it is very natural. The goodness of a mother flows
naturally from her as a river flows from the source to enrich the crops
planted along the banks and beyond. That is the gift of a mother. It goes
beyond herself to the world.
There are so many lessons you have learnt from your mother. Whether good
or bad, they have shaped who you are. The way a girl and a boy will relate
to people originates entirely on the character of the mother. This is because
mothers have more time with their children more than fathers. Remember I
said earlier that a mother is one who will sacrifice so much for your future.
This sacrifice includes time. An absent mother will make the children ape
character traits from the people they spend more time with. Observe how
you behave around people. Where did you get the character from? Most
ladies in marriages behave exactly like their mothers. They love their
husbands the same way their mothers did. In addition to this, they treat their
children and even house helps the way their mother treated them. Men,
when choosing a woman to marry, for those who are yet to marry, study the
mother of your fiancée.
A friend of mine told me that what she does right now in her home,
especially to her husband is a reflection of what she used to see her mother
do. She also added that she observed where her mother failed and it became

a lesson to her. The things her mother used to do to anger her father, she
does the opposite to her husband. This was a good lesson she learnt. I want
you to understand that lessons are not just learnt from the positive or good
