Dedication
––––––––
I wish to dedicate this to Tanzania's pastors and church leaders. Men and women who labor in the vineyard of their Master. They do it with inadequate financing and equipment, many obstacles, and many challenging forces, yet they do it. May this be a blessing to you all.
Acknowledgments
As I reflect on the events that brought me to produce this book, I become overcome by a sense of thanksgiving and gratitude. This has indeed been a team effort.

First of all, my thanks and appreciation go to the Pastors who heard these principles during a series of lectures in Karatu, Tanzania. These men of God were so alert and supportive that they drew the material from me. Because of their earnest desire to understand how to better serve God and His people, the decision was made to produce this material in written form.
I also must mention some of those who have had a hand in shaping my thinking in the leadership arena. First, there is the late Dr. Costa Dier, one of my earliest mentors, while I was a student at Elim Bible Institute. Then there would be Dr. Daryl Merrill Sr., President Emeritus of Christian Life College in Mt. Prospect, Illinois. He exemplified these principles in his life and ministry as I labored alongside him as a young associate Pastor. I must also include Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, a close friend and mentor during my two-and-a-half years working for the Christian Broadcasting Network.
Much love and appreciation to my wife Diane for her support, encouragement, and expertise in proofreading this material's English version. Your love is my strength, and you have helped me to become the leader I am today.
To Dr. Jerry Savelle, a man who exemplifies these leadership principles in both his life and ministry. It has been an honor and a privilege to be in a covenant relationship with him since 1996.
To my Personal Assistant and daughter, Caroline Sikilo Eberts, Caroline kept after me. She tried her best to keep me from getting diverted along the way. Thanks and admiration for your diligence and devotion.
To Juliet Japhet, our church secretary, who was a dynamo of activity typing and helping with the first draft of the manuscript, my appreciation and thanks.
My Senior Assistant Pastor, Barnabas Mkiramweni, a whirlwind of activity, challenged me at every turn to get this published as soon as possible. Thanks for the Push B
I needed it.
And last but certainly not least, to my good friend and colleague, Pastor D. N. Uhwello, I extend my gratitude and appreciation for his comments and observations while reading the manuscript.

PREFACE
The wisest man who ever lived wrote, listen up son and learn there is no end to the making of books, and studying hard is a pain...
-—Ecc. 12:12, a paraphrase by GJE
So, why write a book on being an influencer? Let me try to answer this. For over 20 years, I have lived in Tanzania, East Africa. I am a bishop, ministry leader, author, prophet/seer, and life coach. In everything I do, my focus is on equipping, enabling, and empowering leaders to reach their full potential. They will then be able to create an extraordinary life for themselves and their families. In addition, they will become more efficient and effective in leading and equipping others.
My greatest joy is seeing men and women have their lives transformed and their minds renewed, shifting from a victim mentality to a victor mentality and from being an ineffective influencer to greatness. In writing this book, I aim to make the critical foundational elements that can make this transformation accessible to more people. Even those who may not consider themselves people of influence or leaders.
Having lived in East Africa since the first part of 1997 and teaching and training leaders worldwide since 1977, I have a unique perspective in communicating these vital foundational principles to cross-cultural audiences.
" Never judge a man until you have walked for
two moons in his moccasins."
-—Native American Proverb
