    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First of all, I thank God, who through His divine providence is my light, my guide, my protector.

I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

I thank my alter ego: the Pharmaceutical - Chemist Eduardo De La Torre Quiñónez, his children Edward J. De La Torre Paredes and Rubí I. De La Torre Paredes for turning my world into a more beautiful place to live in.

I also thank all those relatives who are no longer with us: Sonia Quiñonez Jinez and her father Juan Vitaliano Quiñonez Albán (whose name I have taken for this book in tribute).

And last but not least, I thank you, Dear Reader, who acquired this book.

    1. INTRODUCTION

First of all Dear Reader, please let me introduce myself, my name is Juan Vitaliano Quiñónez Albán and I am a pseudonym. I am a grateful grandson's tribute to his grandfather. I am the tribute to that grandfather who comes to visit every home and gives his grandchildren not only love but also some regalo (gift) as it is said in my country: Ecuador.

I was born Ecuadorian and I have a Bachelor's degree on Chemist & Pharmaceutical Sciences. At this moment I have two books published on an online reading platform. I do hope in the near future, and with God's blessing to continue writing, and since I name Him, God, I would like to add that I am Catholic.

My second skill, beside of Chemistry, is the English language (as I am a native Spanish speaker), and from a very young age it has been relatively easy for me to learn it, study it (even in depth), and apply it. From a very young age I have always been interested in learning the roots of words (both in English and Spanish) and how they are often derived from other languages or words (from other languages), through the study of etymology.

I do not describe myself out of vanity or to give more importance to this work, but rather, I want to make it clear that I am not a Theologian, I am not a Philosopher, I am not a Mythologist and I am not a Linguist or Philologist. I am a Pharmaceutical-Chemist as I had said before, and, even being close to Chemistry, I am not an Alchemist either (although I understand something about this). Despite the aforementioned, I promise to show you a series of topics related to religion, philosophy, mythology, linguistics and etymology. Topics which I have progressively discovered for my personal growth or impoverishment, since I was 9 years (and which have been both a blessing and a curse to me at the same time)

It is so, dear reader, that if you belong to any of the previously mentioned branches, you may find in this work a series of errors, typical of those who are not titled in your noble careers. However, and as a good Chemist and Pharmacist that I am, and given the investigative nature of my personality, perhaps reading this work will be interesting for you.

Before we get into what I have, so to speak, discovered; I will briefly tell you my story from the beginning, so that you will understand the context or purpose of this book.

I was 9 years old and on local television in my country they were broadcasting the movie The Omen (1976) and the fact that a child had a birthmark on his head, caught my attention. A mark which referred to the infamous number of the beast or according to standard Catholic Bible versions, six hundred and sixty-six.

Years later, when I was 11, I entered a Catholic school, and perhaps as usually happens in the majority of Catholic schools, teachers and authorities used to stressed students daily, with the fact that if we don't go to mass every Sunday for the rest of our lives we would go to hell.

This is how I fulfilled the Catholic sacraments, in my childhood, and of that fact I feel deeply proud, since it was a way to find God, so to speak in an official and not in a colloquial way, as usually happens in Ecuador. Where sometimes there is taught in many houses some sort of Christianity full of myths, or like some grannies perhaps told us in our childhood, that when they were of our age they saw an angel or the Lord Jesus Christ himself. Situation that, although it might sound somewhat far-fetched in the current context, is not entirely far from reality, since God, in one way or another, has manifested himself and in a great way, throughout the history of the modern world, and especially in as far as the Judeo-Christian tradition is concerned.

Going back to the topic, it is so, that at the age of 11 and under this religious formation in my home (the same one that was far from my collegiate formation), I was like every devout Catholic child of that age, which means that: I tried to comply with the precepts of the church, following a path free of sins (where only the path is free but not the person
