Steve Hutchison
Artist, developer and entrepreneur in film, video games and communications Steve Hutchison co-founded Shade.ca Art and Code in 1999, then Terror.ca and its French equivalent Terreur.ca in 2000. With his background as an artist and integrator, Steve worked on such games as Capcom's Street Fighter, PopCap's Bejeweled, Tetris, Bandai/Namco's Pac-Man and Mattel's Skip-Bo & Phase 10 as a localization manager, 2-D artist and usability expert. Having acquired skills in gamification, he invented a unique horror movie review system that is filterable, searchable and sortable by moods, genres, subgenres and antagonists. Horror movie fans love it, and so do horror authors and filmmakers, as it is a great source of inspiration. In March 2013, Steve launched Tales of Terror, with the same goals in mind but with a much finer technology and a complex engine, something that wasn’t possible initially. He has since published countless horror-themed books.

Winning Streak
The compulsive gambler had been searching for the perfect slot machine for years. He had tried every casino in town, and even traveled to Las Vegas in search of that one machine that would finally give him the big win he had always dreamed of.
One day, while passing through a seedy part of town, he spotted a strange, old-fashioned slot machine in the window of a small rundown casino. Despite the dim lighting and worn decor, the machine seemed to call to him. He couldn’t resist the temptation, and soon found himself handing over all his savings to the casino in exchange for a few turns on the machine.
As he pulled the lever, the gambler couldn’t believe his luck. The symbols lined up perfectly, and he won the jackpot on his very first spin. Ecstatic, he continued to play, winning again and again. But as the night wore on, the gambler began to notice a strange side effect of his non-stop winning streak. His skin started to wrinkle and sag, and his hair began to turn grey.
Panicked, the gambler tried to walk away from the machine, but found that he couldn’t. He was physically and mentally addicted to the thrill of winning, and he couldn’t stop himself from pulling that lever again and again. And so, as the hours passed, the once young and vibrant gambler aged into a withered old man, sitting alone in front of that cursed slot machine, still trying to hit that next big win.
Rude Monkey
The macaque at the local zoo was a creature of legend. It was known to be the most vicious, spiteful animal in the entire facility, with a reputation for being foul-mouthed, aggressive, and downright cruel to anyone who came near it. Visitors gave it a wide berth, but that didn’t seem to matter to the macaque. Behind its eye patch, it seemed to take pleasure in causing chaos and discomfort.
One day, a group of coworkers were making their way through the primate exhibit on a team-building outing when they noticed the macaque staring at them with a wicked glint in its eye. They could have sworn that it was trying to communicate with them, but that was impossible. Or was it?
Suddenly, the macaque began to speak to the group in a voice that was eerily human-like. I know your secrets,
it hissed, its lips curling back to reveal sharp, yellowed teeth. I know about the embezzlement scheme you’ve been planning at your company, accountant. And I also know about the fact that you’ve been secretly applying for jobs behind your boss’s back. You think you’re so clever!
The accountant’s face turned pale as the macaque continued to speak. And you, boss,
it sneered. I know about the affair you’re having with your secretary. You think you’re being so discreet, but I see everything.
The boss and the secretary both looked shocked and horrified as the macaque turned its attention to the secretary. And as for you,
it said, its voice dripping with venom. I know about the abortion you had last year. You thought you could keep it a secret, but I know the truth.
The coworkers were frozen in fear, their minds racing as the macaque continued to speak. It seemed to know their deepest, darkest secrets, and it reveled in their discomfort and terror. The group fled in panic, their screams echoing through the empty corridors of the zoo.
No one knows what happened to the macaque, but some say that it’s still out there, waiting for its next victims. Its mind-reading
