Persephone felt the thread of Fate binding her essence to her father, even as he approached the room where she lay. Her hair was braided by the Nymphs of Olympus. It was a heavy burden, a shackle that allowed the cruel King of the Gods to strip any immortal of their divinity, even his eldest daughter... even her, goddess of spring, flowers, and vegetation. She had seen him do it to Poseidon and Apollo for their attempted coup centuries ago, watched the golden glow of ichor run bronze as their power was torn from their immortal flesh.

Persephone, despite her loathing for her cruel father, did the same.

Zeus' entrance was as dramatic as he was magnificent. Hatred aside, she could not deny that no other god could be crafted as perfectly as her father. Tall and hard, his every muscle could have a statue carved
