—Sara, I'm going to miss you a lot. — Candace told her, her best friend since they were seven years old.

—I'll miss you too. —Sara replied, about to cry.

Both were preparing their suitcases to return to their respective homes, although in reality for them the luxurious school in Switzerland was their home. They had arrived at the Le Rosey Institute when they were seven years old, the minimum age to enter the elitist institute.

It was in Rolle, Switzerland, about twenty minutes from Geneva. It was called the College of Kings and not by chance, since a large part of the European nobility had passed through it, including King Juan Carlos I, Rainier III Prince of Monaco, Albert II of Belgium among others. Le Rosey was considered one of the most prestigious in the world.

The girls had met when they were kids and immediately became good friends. They had many things in common, they were only children, both had lost their mothers when they were very young, and they were the daughters of immensely wealthy men.

Candace was from London, her father owned a telecommunications company, one of the largest in the country. The girl would attend Cambridge, she was going to study law.

Sara, for her part, was the daughter of Joaquín Vega, a businessman who was dedicated to private security. She had decided to study business, but at Harvard, so she and her best friend and confidant would have to part ways.

On graduation day, Joaquín attended, despite the fact that he had many unfinished business, but Sara was the light in his eyes, his spoiled girl. The girl was going to receive an honorable mention for being the best of her class.

The man was proud of his only daughter, she was beautiful, intelligent, obedient, responsible, an exemplary girl. Before entering the venue where the graduation would take place, they greeted each other with a hug, father and daughter loved each other very much despite seeing little.

Joaquín and Sara went to Geneva to go to the airport, the man had a private plane waiting for them that would take them to New York City, where the Vega family had their residence.

They didn't talk much during the flight of a little over eight hours, Sara was sad to say goodbye to her companions, especially Candace, and, besides, Joaquín as soon as he got on the plane he looked for his laptop and started working.

The girl put on her headphones and fell asleep, she was exhausted, they had hardly slept in the last few days, talking until dawn, making plans for the next vacation and promising that they would continue to be confidants despite the distance.

Sara liked New York, but she did not feel comfortable, it was understandable, for more than ten years she only lived in the city for vacations, during the months of July and August, and a short season in December for the holidays.

Joaquín had decided that she should go to Harvard, although she would have preferred to go to Cambridge or Oxford, but that was entirely up to her father. In what she had prevailed was in the race, Vega had insisted that she study law, but she had refused, she was determined to study business.

When they arrived at the airport, a huge Bentley was waiting for them, escorted by two black SUVs with tinted windows, one in front and one behind. Sara was surprised by this display of security. On her last visit a year ago they had only had a couple of bodyguards.

Within an hour they were entering the building where Joaquín Vega owned a luxurious apartment, it was located on 5th. Avenue in front of Central Park. It was a huge two-story, six-bedroom apartment, with a large living room where there was a beautiful piano, a formal dining room, a huge kitchen, an office, and a gym.

The man had moved three months ago, so it was the first time Sara had set foot in the apartment.

Sara greeted Rose, the cook, who had been with them their entire lives. She had worked for Joaquín since she was a teenager. Her husband Peter also worked for them, he was in charge of running errands and taking care of anything that was needed, they were both absolutely trusted by Vega.

—Come and see the house, princess! — Joaquín said to his daughter. He took her to all the rooms of the luxurious apartment. Finally, he took her to what would be her room. — You can redecorate it however you want! she talks to Peter and he will put you in touch with the decorator.

—Thanks Dad. Everything is perfect! —Sara told him, and she meant it.

The room was spacious with a huge walk-in closet and a spa-worthy bathroom. But the most impressive thing was the view, from his window he could see all of Central Park. The girl stared spellbound, it was eight in the evening, and the nuances that the sunset gave her were precious.

    — It's not Switzerland, but I knew you'd like it. — Joaquín told him, behind him.

    —It's lovely!  —The girl repeated.

—Freshen up a bit and come down to dinner. Rose is picky when it comes to eating, she is at 9:00 sharp, no more, no less. — Her father told her, kissed her on the top of her head and left the room.

Sara opened one of her suitcases, and took out what was necessary to take a quick shower, she didn't want to keep Rose waiting for the first day.

When Joaquín came down, he was sitting in the living room, with the laptop on his lap and a glass of wine in front of him. He smiled at his beloved daughter, stood up and they went to eat together in the kitchen, when there were no guests they preferred to eat there. The dining room was uncomfortable for them because the table was for fourteen people, something big for just the two of them.

Vega brought her up to date about the family, told her that the grandparents were currently taking a cruise in the Mediterranean, and that they would then go to the Caribbean. They were enjoying their golden years, her aunt Amparo was in Barcelona, Spain, she was a renowned pediatric surgeon, and she had moved to her father's hometown to give some conferences, she would be back in a couple of months.

The Vega family was originally from Spain, Salvador the father was a diplomat from that country, he arrived in New York City very young and fell in love with an American girl, when he was about to finish his mission he proposed to her, the couple traveled for about ten years.

Both children were born in Spain, but they went to live in New York from a very young age. When Salvador resigned from diplomatic work, he dedicated himself to doing business, he knew that his wife wanted to settle down and for the children to grow up with some stability.

Salvador Vega amassed a considerable fortune making
