Blessed: A True Story About Intercessory Prayer and God’s Healing Power

About this ebook
Over in the corner of the nurse's station outside his room, Leroy saw a tall male figure, an obscure shadowy figure of a sort, peering into the window of his room. The shadowy image had dark hair, a slim build, and wore a dark suit. The being smirked at Leroy through the window while he lay in the bed. Leroy noticed when it snarled, that the spirit had sharp jagged teeth. Leroy could see the figure talking but Leroy couldn't hear what the phantom was saying. Toward the other side of the room, Leroy then saw a plump, blonde-haired lady that had a glow about her. She was in white clothing and was up against the wall.
Awe-inspiring and remarkable, this true story details Leroy's fight for his life and describes his encounter with an angel days before doctors planned to remove life support. He tells about a battle of good and evil forces while he lay unconscious, a band of men marching around his bedside, and an angel who woke him and led him down a dusty road.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
First and foremost, I cannot take credit for being the true author of this book, for without God—who is the Mastermind and the Great Healer—there would be no story to share.
Thank you to my family and friends for your tremendous support while my husband was hospitalized and your diligence with ongoing prayers as he continues to recover.
And lastly, thank you to the many doctors and nurses at the University of Tennessee Hospital who were, and currently are still involved in my husband’s care. Your dedication and commitment have been remarkable.

INTRODUCTION
I am somewhat of an introvert. I have never felt comfortable behind a podium making a speech or sharing a testimony. But if you hand me a microphone and ask me to sing, my fears subside as I share with you stories of Jesus and what He has done for me.
I began writing gospel music in my early teens. God spoke to my heart years ago and said to me that I needed to write books. I didn’t have full confidence in myself at the time so I decided that when I retired, I would write books, still unsure of what God wanted me to write.
For many years, I thought that true love had passed me by. When I least expected, God blessed me with the love of my life in my late forties, Leroy Davis, my husband of 16 years. I met my husband at church. The first time I laid eyes on him was the day he was baptized. I had struggled with finding a Christian mate like many other divorced middle-aged Christians experience. I thought to myself, as I watched Leroy give his life to Jesus that day, surely there is someone out there for me who loves God just like this man. I asked God to lead me to someone like Leroy. Little did I know that God had already prepared the way for our future together when I was introduced to him six months later. They say with love, when you know, you know. We were engaged within several months and married the following year.
When Leroy and I first met, we shared with each other our backgrounds and how God had changed our life. I didn’t even feel that I had a testimony to tell, other than I was raised in a Christian family and had given my heart to God at a young age of twelve. Leroy’s story was so different. Leroy had an experience that was like no other person I’d ever known. God had literally rescued him out of a bane existence of sin where he eventually made the decision to follow Jesus only a year before I had met him. Through our years together, I stored up the many tales that Leroy had shared about his life before he knew Jesus. I realized that his testimony was one that would inspire others and needed to be told. God was leading me to write his story. Leroy agreed that I could do so, but he wanted to remain anonymous. To accommodate his request, and for privacy reasons, I have written the events in my
