LeBron James - Adrian Almonte
Introduction
Everybody in the world knows the name LeBron James. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never watched a basketball game in your life or if it is your life’s greatest passion, you surely know the man dubbed King James.
If you have ever wondered how LeBron came to be so successful, if you have thought about where he came from and what led him to worldwide superstardom, then you have found yourself in the right place. This book is here to outline the life and times of LeBron James. I will cover everything from his early life to his time in the spotlight and everything in between.
LeBron is still a superstar in the NBA to this day. He continues to slam dunk records and make a name for himself. No matter how old he is, he is still one of the best players in the world. This is a man who came from humble beginnings and rose to fame at a very early age. Before he even finished high school, he was a national talking point, and people had their eyes trained on his career. LeBron always showed serious talent in the realm of basketball and was recognized as a supreme talent from childhood. By the time he entered secondary education, he was picked as someone who would be a huge star one day. He went on to be the first pick in the NBA draft and to have a hugely successful career.
LeBron James is also a personality unto himself. He isn’t just known for his time on the court, but what he does off it as well. He is an activist and philanthropist. He is fiercely proud of his hometown, and uses every opportunity to support his community and to highlight the needs of underprivileged people. He is a business owner, and he has over 100,000,000 followers on Instagram. That means that millions upon millions of people are watching his every move and are interested in what he has to say.
Despite his huge following, James is also an incredibly tight-lipped man. He’s made sure that, throughout his career, nobody knows his next move. He isn’t public about his future, and this leads to a lot of speculation about what he is going to do next.
He is an endlessly interesting person. There are so many small details that grip the public interest about his life, and LeBron will always be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time. Perhaps even the greatest to have ever played in the NBA.

Chapter 1: A Kid from Akron
LeBron Raymone James Sr. was born on the 30th of December, 1984, in Akron, Ohio. His mother, Gloria Marie James, was only 16 at the time of his birth. The exact knowledge of who his biological father is, is contested, though there is no doubt that LeBron never had a father figure in his life. This means that Gloria raised her son all on her own. LeBron’s early childhood was difficult. He grew up in the poorer parts of Akron and often moved around from apartment to apartment. They lived in as many as six different places a year. He didn’t come from wealth or acclaim. He had to hustle for everything he wanted from an early age. It was also a dangerous life. Lebron recalls seeing guns and drugs during his childhood and often felt like he was endangered by his surroundings and those who were present in his life. LeBron doesn’t blame his mother for what his childhood was like; she was young and did the best she could. He’s been quoted saying that she still was able to feed him and keep clothes on his back while they struggled.
Gloria wasn’t completely alone when raising her son. She had a lot of support from her mother, but tragedy struck the family when LeBron’s grandmother passed away, leaving them to become a two-person unit. Unfortunately, the family of two was plagued by financial issues. LeBron has commented that he was worried about what was going to come next at every turn of his childhood. Due to the instability in his home life, LeBron missed a lot of school and often wasn’t able to complete assignments on time.
Ms. James realized early on that this was not a good way for her to raise her son. She wanted to give him every opportunity to be successful in life and ultimately made the difficult decision to allow him to live with another family.
Time With the Walker Family
Gloria James entrusted local youth football coach and family friend Frank Walker with LeBron’s future and education. She knew that Walker had children of his own and that LeBron was especially close to his son, Frank Jr. It was in his fourth year of school that he moved in with them, so he was very young when he left the family home in pursuit of a more stable upbringing. This came after LeBron missed more than half his school days that year.
It was with the Walker family that LeBron learned to have a strong work ethic and a dedication to his tasks. He became a true part of the family. He did chores, he went to school, and learned from the family everything he could about a stable living environment. The Walkers were very generous with him. They bought him all his school supplies, housed him like one of their own, and made sure that he focused on his education. Unlike the previous year, LeBron had almost a perfect attendance record in the fifth grade and showed great promise and dedication in his schooling.
This was also when LeBron started becoming interested in sports. He first played little league football
