    The Prayer – Short Story

First and foremost, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without you carrying me through this life, this would not have been possible. With everything that I had been through, you had given me the heart to write the way that I do, Thank you.

My son Alex, his mom Rebecca, her dad Buford, her brother Calvin and his daughter Savannah. I love you all so very much. Calvin is with our Lord, he will always be remembered, loved, and missed.

Chaplain J. Keith Johnson, he had always been someone I could talk to. He had always been supportive, and caring I love you brother. He is loved as family, and brother always.

Donna Waddell, my sister this world can throw a lot at us at times. However, your strength in everything had proven true in your own faith. Stay strong, and persevere. I love you sister.

My new found brother with a little more than seven years of laughter and help David. God Bless you brother, love you and our family.

Both my mom, and brother Brian are with God in Heaven at the time of this book. Looking down upon us their family. Rest in peace, we all love you and miss you.

God loves you, and so do I.

    THE CROSS – SHORT STORY

There was a girl who loved to make crosses. She made them in different colors, and sizes. One day she was in the backseat of her dad’s car making a very special cross.

Her dad looked in the rear-view mirror, and asked What colors will this one be sweetheart? She looks up, and replies, Blue, and purple. She smiles, it’s for someone special. Her dad smiles in return as they arrive at the grocery store.

As they park at the store, they had over-heard a man and his wife arguing in the car next to them. The little girl looks over, and closes her eyes as she wrapped her little hand around the Cross that she had just completed. Daddy? She had asked while her eyes where closed, can you help me to talk to that couple next to us?

Her dad takes the keys out of the ignition, and smiles. What for baby? They seem pretty heated right now. The little girl smiles as she opened her eyes to see her dad in the rearview mirror, I just want to give the man this Cross that I had just finished. As they had gotten out of the car, the little girl walked closely to her dad as they approach the couple’s vehicle. Her dad gently knocks on the driver’s side window.

What do you want man? The man in the car said as he lowered down his window, leave us alone. The little girl’s dad looked down at his daughter and frowned, Honey, he doesn’t seem like he wants to talk. The little girl smiles big, and headed up to the window. Mister, She said smiling, I have a present for you.

The guy in the car looked down at her, and replied Oh yeah? what might that be?

The little girl looked up at the man, and smiled, Just a present for you, she said and raised her hand up to place the Cross into the man’s hand. The little girl starts to cry happily. It symbolizes the love that God has for us, God’s word says, ‘and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgivn you.’

The man in the car had begun to tear up as he opened the door. He hugged the little girl, and as he whispered in her ear. Thank you darlin.

He turned back to his wife, and said I don’t know what got into me, please forgive me. I’ll be better, this little girl has shown me the light. The man, and his wife hugged, and had reconciled their differences.

From then on out they lived happily ever after.

    WALKING BAREFOOT – SHORT STORY

A little boy and his dad were walking barefoot on the sand. They have enjoyed this tradition since the little boy could walk.

The little boy looked up into the sky and points out the various shapes and sizes in the clouds.

Daddy, the boy asked, who made the clouds that fly so high? His dad smiles and looks up to the sky, God did my son.

The little boy stood, and pondered this for a moment and says, who is God? The little boy looks up to his dad with a knowing look.

His dad replies, God is our creator, the boy’s eyes brighten, He created us? The boy asked.

His dad smiles and places a hand on his son’s shoulder, yes, He created the sky, which is Heaven and the earth for which you walk on. Even from the birds in the air, to the fish in the sea. Even the sand that is in between your toes were created by God.

The little boy smiles and says God sounds amazing dad. Will we be able to talk to Him and meet Him soon?

His dad replies, "The prayers we speak every night is our communication to God. He responds through His spirit and His word. We will meet Him the moment we
