Ethan sat in his high school classroom, constantly staring at the clock. The minute hand on the clock seemed to move at a snail’s pace, and Ethan just couldn’t bear the wait until the bell rang. The last period of the day started to feel like an eternity.

ETHAN SIGHED... FIVE minutes...

Just five more minutes to go. Then I can finally head home and just lie down.

Life felt boring and mandane. He had this consistent feeling that he was meant for more. Ethan’s life was monotonous – every day the same time. He’d get up in the morning, go through his morning ritual, go to school, and come back home.

AS THE MINUTE HAND on the clock continued to move closer to the 12 mark, the teacher’s voice droned on in the background. He just couldn’t find himself to focus on what Ms. Lee was saying.

ONCE THE MINUTE MARKER came very close to the 12 mark, Ethan was keeping an eye on the seconds – and getting his things ready in the meantime. By the time the bell rang, Ethan was ready to get up and go, but faced disappointment when Ms. Lee announced a class meeting.
