About this ebook
Maggie Emery
Maggie Emery was born and brought up in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, UK, and moved to Spain with her husband in 2017. She liked to write humorous poems and enjoyed writing regular ‘blogs‘ to family and friends back in the UK but had always wanted to write a book. During the COVID lockdown in March 2020, she started writing a story to read via video link to her grandchildren. Encouraged by their response and that from friends and family, she went on to write and illustrate a further five short stories which have been put together to create this, her first published book.

Once upon a time, there were two little pixie girls who lived in a toadstool under a very old oak tree in Bluebell Wood.
These little pixies were not only sisters but great friends and full of mischievous fun. They often played tricks on each other and their pixie friends who lived nearby. Their names were Heidi-High-Hat and Bonnie-Blue-Shoes.

One day, after they had both just woken up, Heidi-High-Hat looked out of the window to see a grey sky and rain. ‘Oh no!’ said Heidi-High-Hat miserably. ‘It’s raining. That means we can’t go out to play.’
Bonnie-Blue-Shoes looked very disappointed and said, ‘Well, let’s have some breakfast first and perhaps the sun will come out.’
Heidi-High-Hat went to the cupboard and got out two bowls, two spoons and some fruit—an apple, a pear, some blackberries and a banana. She cut the fruit up
