    CHAPTER ONE

    Meet Betty

T he enchanted world of fairyland was hidden behind a large, old wooden door in a huge oak tree in Peppertree Jungle. This door could only be opened and seen when a short song was sung from a book. But the book was with an elf named Dimple, who guarded the book day and night and her servant, Harriet, the giant mouse was helping Dimple as much as she could… Julie finished reading from the Fantasy book and smiled at her younger cousin Betty.

Julie also told her about the great Queen Cassie who was the ruler of Fairyland. Betty was very eager to find more about this door.

One day, as Betty and Bo were collecting strawberries for making jam, Bo saw something that looked like a big, furry grey stone.

A white label on her apron said; Harriet. The rat had a large thorn pierced in her foot and was whining and groaning. Betty was sad that the thorn had hurt Harriet so, she pulled the thorn out of Harriet’s foot using a plastic
