PAST FORWARD
Jenny smiled as she finished the call. ‘Perfect. I’ll see you on Saturday week around five.’ Her daughter Freya had invited her over to her new flat for an early supper – and she was so looking forward to seeing it.
It was a big step, moving in with her boyfriend, Junior. The landlord had let them redecorate, so they’d been hard at work putting their stamp on the place. She knew how excited they were about the big reveal. It took Jenny back to when she and Tom had moved into their first flat on the ground floor of a Victorian terrace, and furnished it with hand-me-downs.
A LITTLE SELF-CARE WAS WHAT WAS NEEDED
Back then, she’d hankered after country style and Laura Ashley florals. She’d made curtains and cushions. Tom had made a wooden garden bench, and together they had turned an old trunk into a charming window seat.
