    PROLOGE

    SPRINGVIEW is a quiet, Midwestern town. It has the usual number of streets, houses, churches, stores and farms that most small, rural towns have. A matter of fact, if you were to visit Springview, you would think it was just like any other town; and it is, except for one thing: Springview has a secret. . .

    At the end of town, just a little north of Poplar Drive, an old dirt road winds through the Halley’s cornfield and leads to an old, abandoned farmhouse known as the haunted mansion. The house rests on a hill. It looks cold and forbidding. The paint is faded, the shutters hang loose, and it is covered with prickly vines. The yard is overgrown with weeds; and, bramble bushes cling to the old picket fence that is barely standing.

    No one knows who the house belongs to, but they do know it is haunted. There are rumors of ghosts, creepy monsters and a witch that lives at the house. No one dares to go near the place. No one that is, until three kids living on Poplar Drive decide to.

    First, there is Jody Thompson who is eleven. He has red hair and green eyes. He loves football, biking and stamp collecting. He is always full of mischief. Whenever he gets together with his two best friends, Patricia Stevens and Andy Gonahe, he usually does something that gets everyone in trouble.
