About this ebook
Imelda has never dreamed of life within the castle walls. Nor has she had the time to experience romantic relationships of any sort. After all, working as a seamstress in her small village takes nearly all her time.
So when the king’s man appears in town looking for the one who will become the new queen, she doesn’t think much of it.
To become the queen, the chosen woman must participate in a mysterious ceremony called the Yrswor. There, she will serve as the lone woman, or “Jewel,” in a blindfolded, once-in-a-lifetime sexual experience. The prince, together with his closest allies, must complete the ceremony, or relinquish his crown forever.
Prince Edgar has spent his life preparing to take the crown. There’s one last step he must take: the Yrswor. The sexually-charged erotic ceremony that would allow him to claim his queen.
Join Edgar, Imelda, and the other gentlemen of the court as they ride the crests of pure ecstasy, ride out their emotions, and discover a love like no other.
This novelette is Part 1 of the Darkstone Saga.

Beginnings: Imelda
Shrouded in darkness, I was a pure sexual being. I was goddess of the abyss. Ridden by my masters, I crested the waves of ecstasy, and I was overcome.

The ceremony was called Yrswor, the ancient Sigaellean word for crown and flower.
It occurred once every generation. Participants were selected as part of an arduous process involving interviews, auditions, and background investigations. To take part in the ceremony was the highest honor and bestowed only upon those who impressed the monarch. And every one of them, a man. Every one, that is, except for the jewel
or blossom
of the Yrswor. The woman.
And this time, that woman would be me.
∞∞∞
Before the ceremony, I wasn’t used to attention of any sort. I had red hair, as did most of the people from my village. I’d milked my share of cows, but my specialty was in clothes. Sewing had been the only thing to keep my interest in the one-horse town where I’d grown up. I made clothes for everyone, and I made a hefty living doing it, supporting myself and my mother.
When the king’s men rode into town to announce the Yrswor, it never occurred to me that I might take part. The Jewel of Yrswor was always someone remarkable. Why else would she be chosen to be queen?
Besides, applying to the position could be embarrassing, to say the least. Still, every young woman dreamed of it. Only once in a generation, one young woman was chosen, and that woman would live the life of luxury.
The most luxurious thing I’d ever experience was a bolt of soft satin from the city, and even that, I’d gifted to the women in the village. I couldn’t fathom going about my day with no physical labor. How would I spend my time?
So when the king’s men began to read aloud from their fancy scroll, I started to walk on.
"The Jewel of the Yrswor, said the king’s man,
must be stout of heart, strong in character, and sexually uninhibited."
My ears perked up at the last part. The rest of the crowd stirred, as well. Whispers here and there, the occasional giggle. Such children, the lot of them.
I was a virgin. It was no secret to the other villagers. Not because I’d never found the right man to take my virginity. No, maybe that was the way to say it. I’d never found a man at all. It was a small village and, even though I was generous with my time, I’d never stayed put in one place long enough to form any meaningful relationships. As a result, at the age of 25, I was the oldest woman in the village who wasn’t married or widowed.
That evening, I left a note for my mother,
