About this ebook

With her best friend and fellow Guardian captured by Satan's army of darkness, leaving her alone to defend the mortals to which they had been assigned, Trinity anxiously awaits the decision of God to either call her back to heaven or reassign her. Determined to avenge her fellow guardian angel and bring justice to those who took him from her, she is elated when the archangel Michael delivers to her the news that God has, in fact, decided to allow her to remain in England and continue her quest to protect the mortals there, as well as seek out and rescue her friend with the assistance of one of heaven's grounded agents. Although at first eager to establish a trusting relationship with her new partner, Trinity soon finds her once confident attitude to quickly be uprooted and deflated when she learns the identity of the immortal that has been assigned to assist and protect her while she remains on earth. As she struggles to accept and come to the understanding of why God had assigned this particular agent to aide in her fight, Trinity quickly learns that his value far supersedes her initial biases against him. In their search to find Kellan, both Trinity and Jarrik discover unexpected, hidden secrets behind Trinity's origins, and both come to learn why each was as important as the other to succeed in what they were sent to do.

Trinity stood looking out of the bay window in the library of her Guardian’s home on earth, anxiously awaiting the return of the a rchangel Michael with the news of God’s final decision. And as she replayed the events that recently resulted in the capture of her fellow guardian and closest friend, Kellan, she couldn’t help but feel responsible for the outcome.

Taking full responsibility for losing Kellan, she was determined to find and rescue him from his dark imprisonment. After all, it was Kellan who had saved her from being taken captive, sacrificing himself in the act. As the visions of the violent attack against the guardians by their unknown assailants flooded her mind, she couldn’t help but remember the haunting glare of her adversaries upon them that night. Their blood orange eyes, exuding a hatred so deep and malevolent, cemented her belief that Satan himself had sent them directly to attack God’s guardians. If this fact be true, what else lied ahead of her in this land, and how could she alone protect the people from the dangers it posed?

Trinity resolved in herself that no matter what the message was that Michael and perhaps Gabriel as well would relay to her, she fully intended on pleading her case to right the wrong that had potentially at this point claimed the allegiance of her longtime friend. She swore to herself also to continue to fight to protect God’s mortal children no matter the cost.

While Trinity continued to suffer emotionally from the memories of the previous fateful night and prepared herself for what was to come, Gabriel and Michael were in fact in private council with God to determine the right course of action with regard to her reassignment.

As God listened intently to the suggestions of his most trusted archangels, he like always remained silent, weighing the implications of each recommendation, knowing his decision with regard to Trinity was one of the most delicate matters. While Gabriel plead his case to remove Trinity from earth and return her to heaven to maintain her safety and Michael, having been tasked to watch over her knowing her capabilities, recommended that she be reassigned to another location on earth, God had already begun to develop a plan of his own.

Michael, although I agree with you that Trinity has proven her allegiance to God many times, we cannot risk that the next time Satan succeeds in gaining control of her. We simply cannot take that chance! We may have been successful in several battles so far, but this war is far from over. Surely you out of all of us should understand that, Gabriel passionately reminded his friend and fellow archangel.

Gabriel, while she has been under my watch in England, she and Kellan have proven valuable warriors for our cause. I know the risk that we are taking if she is captured, but I also have faith in her abilities to continue to fight for us. What happened to Kellan was in no way by any fault of hers, Michael responded in defense of his assigned Guardian.

Perhaps not, my friend, but the risk that we are taking leaving her on earth is too great if she remains unguarded. The next attack by Satan’s regime could be detrimental to her safety, as well as our cause!

With both archangels unable to come to an agreement of the right course of action to take, both eventually agreeing to disagree, turned to God for his guidance. Each hoping that God alone could break the impasse that they had created between themselves.

My God, what advice would you give to us now? We obviously cannot agree on what to do with her. You have kept her safe, away from the dark influence for centuries. Do we now compel her to return home to you in heaven, or do we as Michael has suggested reassign her with the other Guardians in another location? Gabriel asked, knowing that their time was limited while she remained on earth alone.

When God was ready to give his answer after carefully considering all conceivable outcomes, he responded by addressing Gabriel first. Gabriel, I understand your concern in wanting to safeguard and protect her here away from harm, but as you both know, she will eventually have to return to earth to fight. Her time is soon approaching. If we bring her back to heaven, she will not be ready to fight when her time comes.

So then you agree with Michael that she should remain on earth? Should she then remain in England or be reassigned to assist the other Guardians? Gabriel asked to clarify.

She is not to be alone. That is certain, God replied, now turning to address Michael. Michael, I know your faith in her abilities, as I too have the same faith in her. But your obligations to defend the earth’s boarder against any further attack of Satan’s regimes has left you unable to keep a constant watch over your Guardians. Gabriel too has been given the responsibility of many tasks and would be unable to continually ensure that she remain away from the influence of our enemy. Despite this, however, I believe that I have come up with a solution that will require both of your participation to enact.

With the full attention of both Michael and Gabriel upon him, God continued with what he knew to be the only option to solve their dilemma. I intend to have Trinity remain in England where she had been originally assigned. The people there still require our protection. However, that being said, she must quickly be removed from the guardian home that she currently resides within. I fear that with Kellan now imprisoned among our enemy, her safety will be compromised. I need to relocate her with someone whom I am confident has the skill, strength, and ability to keep a constant, well-guarded watch over her.

Looking up to Gabriel, God revealed the identity of the person that he knew would stand to pose a challenge to convince, but that Gabriel would be the only one to succeed in the task. I have withheld my judgment against Jarrik Aldeaus long enough for his many defiant attempts against my will. It is now time for him to repay the lenience that I have shown him.

Gabriel and Michael stood before him in shock of the idea of the pairing, neither able to immediately respond to God’s request. Michael, grateful that he was not the one assigned to handle Jarrik alone, left Gabriel confounded as to how he would accomplish what God had commanded of him.

Seeing the concerned expressions on their faces, God then stated to them, I offer you this then. If Trinity refuses to remain and wishes to return to heaven, then she will be permitted. However, if she chooses to remain, she will have to do so under the protection of Jarrik. Perhaps Jarrik should be made aware of the fact that if Trinity returns to me now, he will then have to face my judgment by other means.

Although Gabriel knew that his ability and Michael’s to cohesively bring Trinity and Jarrik to work alongside one another would require immense effort on both of their parts, he knew that God alone could see what others could not.

And trusting in his will, despite his own reservations about the task, Gabriel responded, If your will be that she remains with Jarrik for now, then we will see that it is done my God.

With God now satisfied that his archangels would see that his command be completed, Gabriel and Michael exited the council hall and made their way into the corridor before descending to earth.

Trinity won’t be pleased when she learns of her caretaker. But I have no doubt that she will choose to remain. I already know of her intent to stay and fight to find Kellan. She may be reluctant at first, but she will agree. Jarrik’s condescending attitude toward my Guardians upon their initial meeting may have left a sentiment of disdain within her in relation to him, but I know her determination to avenge Kellan is stronger, Michael affirmed.

This isn’t going to be easy to convince him. He has never allowed anyone into his home, not even me. How I am supposed to secure his agreement to God’s terms is still a mystery. And even if I do, I can’t guarantee his reaction toward her when she arrives. He tends not to be one of the most welcoming of hosts. Of all the tasks that God has required of me, I find this to be my least favorite. I would rather face off against any in Satan’s army than have to persuade Jarrik into compliance with this! Are you sure you wouldn’t want to take my place, Michael, and allow me to convince Trinity to comply with what God asks?

Gabriel, there isn’t a soul in heaven that would willingly or even reluctantly consider taking your place. Besides, you know if any of us could convince Jarrik, it would be you, Michael gladly reminded.

Coming to the realization that he alone would have to secure Jarrik’s participation, Gabriel set aside his reluctance, knowing that the will of God superseded any reservations that he or any other in God’s kingdom would have. Now turning once again to face Michael after a brief pause to consider the best approach to Jarrik, Gabriel readied himself to proceed with his assigned task.

Well then, brother, shall we? he asked as he motioned Michael to accompany him in his descent to earth.

Michael, having been the first to arrive to his intended destination, found Trinity anxiously awaiting his arrival. When he entered the Guardian home to find her standing before him and looked upon her distraught and disheartened gaze, he hesitated to give her the news that he had been sent to relay, knowing the hurt that she held in relation to losing her friend and fellow Guardian.

Both were hesitant at first, for vastly different reasons, to initiate the conversation that would ultimately place her where God had wanted her to be. But in consideration of the urgency of keeping her safe, Michael was first to begin.

I know that you have been waiting in anticipation of God’s final decision, Trinity. And I have been sent to bring you to where you will be reassigned. You must know that all in heaven, including God, are aware that you and Kellan have been valuable warriors in his name, and despite the recent loss of our fellow angel, you, in no way, are being held responsible for the circumstances that led to his capture by our enemy. However, you must understand that with his captivity and likely compromise, your safety is at risk while you remain here alone. The war against Satan and the darkness that is trying to overshadow God’s heavenly light has grown despite our recent victories.

Looking up to face Michael directly, with tears moistening her eyes, Trinity pleaded her case to avenge her friend even before learning all that Michael had been sent to reveal. Michael, am I to remain on earth? You say that I am not to blame, but you yourself had told Kellan and me many times to watch over one another, to fight for one another. Please tell me that my judgment isn’t to return to heaven now. I have to fight here, now to make it right for Kellan. I won’t fail God! I won’t! Please believe me!

I do believe in your inspired intent, Trinity. I had argued in your defense to remain on earth when Gabriel and I were in council with God. I know your desire to remain, and you will be pleased to know that it has been decided that you will, in fact, remain in England. There is an ongoing threat against his people in this land, and God still requires our protection of them. Until he is satisfied that the threat has been weakened beyond the ability to cause any further harm, we will continue to fight. But you must understand that you alone can’t defend the people against the darkness that surrounds them.

Preparing himself to address the message that he had been sent to give, Michael continued. There is another agent of God nearby. He has been assigned to work with you, to ensure that your safety be maintained. God is confident in his ability to protect you against our adversaries. His experience and distinct skill set have proven valuable throughout the ages, and God has found him to be the only answer to the dilemma that we face.

Overwhelmed with gratitude that she had been given the chance that she had so passionately prayed for to remain to fight for God and for her friend, she didn’t allow Michael the chance to finish with the details of to whom she would be reassigned. Taking his hands in hers, Trinity thanked him and expressed her appreciation for defending her position on earth. Never expecting to be assigned with the one angel that had insulted and condescended her upon their very first meeting, Trinity hastened to gather her belongings to begin her journey and establish a trusting relationship with her new partner.

While she raced throughout the Guardian home to collect what she felt pertinent to bring along with her, Michael watched her, trying many times to interrupt her focus and tell her that Jarrik would be the caretaker that God had assigned. Eventually finding himself unable to reveal the identity of her new partner in an attempt to avoid causing any further distress than she had already suffered, he settled in the hope that Gabriel could be successful in his attempt to secure Jarrik’s willing participation in the pairing.

As Michael and Trinity made their final preparations to set course for her new home on earth, Gabriel found himself standing before the manor house that he knew to have been Jarrik’s one sanctuary on earth, the one place that he found peace. Every brick, stone walkway and garden surrounding the home had been meticulously placed and tended to by its immortal owner. After briefly passing through the masterfully constructed iron arched front gate and searching through the outside grounds
