    Recharge - Regina D. Campbell

    Mid-Point Assessment

    (Tracking)

After you have completed twenty-six weeks of the plan, you are now at what is considered half-time. When you observe sports and both teams go into the locker room, this gives both teams time to regroup and assess their performance. You also need time to assess how you are tracking on your goals for the year. Once you complete week twenty-six, follow the exercise explained before you start week twenty-seven. Psalm 20:4 states. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. (NIV)

Before you set any goal you should pray seeking God’s guidance and direction. Goal setting is about aligning your will with God’s desire and will for your life. When you do, then you will experience the peace, favor and blessings of God. It is a true blessing to live out your life in agreement with God’s will. Therefore, set your goal with Christ at the center for you must fulfill you God ordained assignment.

Why should you assess your goals often?

According to a Mind Tool article it's important to have measurable goals, so that you can track your progress and stay motivated. Assessing progress helps you to stay focused, meet your deadlines, and feel the excitement of getting closer to achieving your goal.

    Introduction

    Purpose

Every day you wake up is a day that you’ve never seen before. Lamentations 3:22-23 states "it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Every morning the dawn of the new day brings you into a new and fresh season of God’s love and mercy.

God has crafted a new day for you step into. A day to rise up and see His goodness and amazing love that is better than life. Jessica Van Roekel declares, "there’s something incredibly heart-stirring when dawn breaks the night sky. The colors shift from pale orange to peachy pink with crimson streaks. They mix with a midnight shade of blue and ease into the brilliant blue of a spring morning. The colors unfold across the sky as day overcomes darkness.

When worries spool round and round in the dark of night, the morning brings us reminders of God’s amazing mercy. God’s love and mercies are steadfast and constant. It’s reassuring to know that despite what you are facing or will face with each new day, God’s love and mercies are ever present. While each day you may experience something different, you can take comfort in the consistency of God’s love and mercy.

Recharge was composed for the purpose of recharging your life daily.

    Merriam Webster Definition:

The dictionary defines recharge this way:

    To regain energy or spirit

    To become charged again

To refill with electric charge batteries, keep our devices working throughout the day—that is, they have a high energy density—but they can take hours to recharge when they run down.

Today you are juggling multiple and competing priorities in your life and by the end of the day your strength is depleted. Just as you must recharge your cellphone battery so that you can continue to use your phone you must recharge your life daily so you a continue to grow, strengthen your faith, and develop in Christ.

Recharge provides you with a specific topic to focus on weekly. Each day you will be given a scripture to read and the opportunity to write out what you glean from the scripture. This methodology affords you an opportunity to meditate daily on a scripture to arm you with the Word of God as you begin your day.

Secondly, you will be given the opportunity, daily, to decree and declare over your life according to God’s Word for that day. Job 22:28 states, Thou, shalt also decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee and the light shall shine upon thy ways. Kimberly Jones writes in her book, And You Shall Decree a Thing: Topical Biblical Declarations That Will Transform Your Life, that Job 22:28 is a powerful testament to the power of spoken words, When, we decree and declare according to God's Word, we are operating in our dominion authority and activating our power.

Third, you will identify three things you are grateful for. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 states, in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. This verse teaches that in every situation there is something to be grateful for. Yes, even in your most challenging predicaments you must become more intentional and deliberate in being grateful and appreciative to God.

Gratitude is noted in the psychology arena as well. According to an article by Harvard Health, in positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. It is of paramount importance for you to create a Gratitude Journal to write down what you are grateful for daily. "Gratitude journaling is the habit of recording and reflecting on things (typically three) that you are grateful for on a regular basis.

In essence, you are rewiring your brain to focus more on the positive aspects of your life and build up resilience against negative situations. Keeping a Gratitude Journal is a popular practice in positive psychology - the scientific study of happiness. According to founder of Happy Feed Matt Kandler he refers keeping a gratitude journal as counting your blessings or three good things. Once you engage in this Gratitude Journal, you will shift your mindset and perspective on situations.

By no means is this a fairy tale approach to life. This is not an approach to ignore the ailments and difficulties of life, but to teach you to view your situations through the lens of faith that even on a rainy day, the rainbow will appear, and for that you can be grateful. At the end of a year, you would have identified three things you were grateful for, which equates to 1,095 reasons to be grateful. Oprah Winfrey encourages people to focus on the good and make a conscience effort to state those things that you are grateful for. She stated in one of her life classes in Canada if you want to change your state of being, start to be grateful. This is my hope you for to change your state of being.

Fourth, you will set goals you would like to achieve each week on the first day of the week. I recall my father going to Triple A each summer prior to taking our family on a vacation. He would get a nice map from the Triple A agent laying out the best route for him to travel. Today, you can achieve the same with technology. Either your car or your cellphone has a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) that will map out the best route for you to take. When you set forth your weekly goals that should be aligned with your yearly goals you are putting a mechanism in place to ensure you will arrive at your desired destination by the end of 52 weeks.

Fifth, and finally, you must seal your time with prayer. You should always take the time to pray about what you’ve learned, seeking God’s presence as you go through the day! The key is to go through the day with a sense of peace and calmness. Philippians 4:6 states, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. It is during your time of recharge you present your petitions to God with a heart of gratitude. It's imperative that you open your prayer with adoration (appreciation) and homage to God, then move into thanksgiving, followed by confessions of short comings seeking forgiveness, then move into your petitions and close with thanksgiving.

    Final Assessment

    (Accomplishments)

At the end of the fifty-two-week plan, it will be time to answer the assessment questions. These questions are designed to aide you in examining what and how have you achieved what you set out to achieve. Also, the questions will guide your thought process to determine why you didn't achieve all you set out to achieve, or why you achieved some of your goals.

The assessment will give you the opportunity to examine what you learned and what obstacles prohibited you from achieving your established goals. Furthermore, those obstacles could serve as what you had to encounter while trying to achieve your goals. The final assessment is an opportunity to examine your growth and development. More importantly, it’s a time for you to celebrate your achievements. Celebrating your accomplishments can boost your confidence, help to stave off burnout, and fuel your continued success. Weekly Engagement Example

    Stay in Faith

Faith makes things possible but not easy Steve Harvey

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

(If you are reading the eBook, you will need a separate journal or notebook for each weekly engagement)

In life we all experience a multitude of situations that cause us to doubt and lose hope! However, when you face your difficult moments in life, I encourage you to stay in Faith despite what you see or feel. In the bible David faced the Goliath and he stayed in faith despite the size of Goliath. Goliath was taller than David, he had heavy armor artillery to fight with and Goliath was experienced in fighting wars. Likewise, whatever you are currently facing now; unemployment, loss of a loved one, broken relationship, health challenges, and the list goes on.

Don’t allow your faith to be moved by a momentary situation. The situation you’re currently facing is there to strengthen your faith. Your personal Goliath situation is there to show you how strong you really are and to bring you closer to God. Your current Goliath is there to teach you that God is truly faithful to you and your dreams and purpose in life. Stay in faith despite what you see.

Second, stay in faith despite what you feel. What you are feeling may not currently align with what you believe in your mind but keep believing in God. Emotions are cyclical --they go up and down. Emotions are not stable and are moved by what you see and feel in the current moment. Do not rely on or allow your emotions to dictate your faith.

Thirdly, stay in faith by feeding your mind and spirit the Word of God daily. And always pray fervently. The Word of God is the seed that will take root in your mind and it will cause you to face and withstand your Goliath situation. The truth of God’s Word will bring about inner peace. When you consistently read God’s word and pray, you are building up a spiritual artillery that will propel you through your difficult moments. The word of God states in 2 Corinthians 4:17 for our light affliction, which is but for a moment…

Whatever you may be facing currently or will ever face God’s, grace is sufficient You can stay in Faith despite what you see, feel or experience.
