Rhyming with Jesus - Traci Britt

    January 1

    God did not promise

    A trouble-free life

    Yet that He would

    Help us through our strife

    Pray and seek God

    When you begin your day

    He will be with you

    Every step of the way

    The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

    Lamentations 3:25

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

    John 16:33

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

    James 1:5

    January 2

    To know Jesus

    Is to be set free

    For through Jesus Christ

    Death no longer holds me

    Eternal life I was given

When Jesus came into my heart

    And neither death nor sin

    Could ever make Him depart

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    Romans 8:38–39

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.

    John 10:28

but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

    2 Timothy 1:10

    January 3

    When my cup is empty

    I still do not fear

    I know our God

    Is always right here

    I lift up my hands

    And to Him I pray

    For He refills my cup

    Each and every day

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

    John 6:35

Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.

    Psalm 16:5

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Romans 15:13

    January 4

No matter what you’re going through

Regardless of where you have been

    Jesus loves and forgives you

It doesn’t matter what type of sin

    You are worthy

    Of His mercy and grace

    Give your heart to Jesus

    For your eternal place

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

    Romans 3:23–24

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.

    Titus 2:11

    January 5

    What a glorious day

    As I rise and shine

    My heart filled with happiness

    Knowing You are mine

    Mold me and shape me

    Flowing with joy

    I am like a child

    With a new toy

Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

    Matthew 18:4

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

    John 15:11

    January 6

    When I am empty

    I turn to the Lord

    I lift up His praise

    And I thirst no more

    He knows my needs

    Before I even speak

    For my daily bread

    It is Jesus I seek

They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.

    January 7

    I am not perfect

And I don’t have to be

Because God sent His only son

To die for you and me

    What He asks in return

Is to let Him in your heart

    Put Him first each day

In everything let Him be a part

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

    Remember the sacrifice

Jesus made for you and me

    Without His love for us

    Where would we be

How can I help someone today

    A sacrifice of myself

The love of Jesus does no good

If I keep it locked up on a shelf

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

    Hebrews 10:24

    Just when I get ahead

    It seems something goes wrong

More than a head above water

    Is for what I long

    I’m at a crossroads

    In my mind

Do I give the devil room

No, I trust Jesus and know I’m fine

    Do I return the favor

    Or let Jesus shine through

    Or do I fully believe

    Is that so unorthodox

And I am going to fully believe

    Not in what I perceive

Not following the ways of man

    January 20

    As I am living

In this world day to day

    I need to be mindful

    Not the other way around

    And follow where men trod

Therefore this is what the Lord says: "If you
