About this ebook
 Accurate forecast and time lead. In an investigative report after the deadly storm Katrina, blame and responsibility was placed on various agencies. At the end of the report, the United States Coast Guard and National Hurricane Center were commended for their actions. They were said to have provided accurate forecasts with accurate time leads. The aim of this book is to provide an accurate forecast and accurate time lead to what lies ahead for all of us.  Trip check. Before leaving for a vacation trip to Florida, a few years ago, I had my mechanic check out our car. When I dropped off the car, he wrote the phrase 'trip check' in his appointment book. As he penned those words, I was awakened to the profound meaning and significance of the simple phrase. I knew God was getting my attention as to the due diligence I was giving to a short trip of a few days, but how much consideration was I giving to the long journey upon my departure from the earth. This book is to provide a trip check for our final journey from earth and beyond.  Expiry date. Recently, at work, I received the following email from our IT department: "Your password is ready to expire in ten days, please reset your password." From the moment I read it, I began to see a deeper meaning and get very valuable insight in the simple but short text. Irrespective of one's belief, status, wealth, knowledge, origin or nationality, one thing is certain and true for all of us on the earth: We all have an expiry date. Ironically, on the other side, there is no expiry date. Wherever we end up, it will be forever. We cannot lean on our own ideology, belief system, character or achievements as a qualification for entry into heaven, but we must accept the password that God has provided so that we end up in the right place.

The Great Escape
Introduction and Importance
Most of us have heard and know that there are two things we cannot escape: death and taxes . As far as paying income tax is concerned, many of us, particularly those with means, are able to take advantage of the loopholes in the tax laws to substantially reduce payment of taxes or avoid paying them altogether. Many corporations and the wealthy employ tax accountants and CPAs whose chief aim is to reduce, if not eliminate, the amount of income tax that their clients would have to pay. Even an average person will use the services of specialists during the tax season to manage or corral the amount of tax one would have to pay. There are tax attorneys, CPAs, tax accountants, and ex–IRS agents who specialize in this field.
But what about death and the fear of death? There are few voices which can be heard on this topic. The very mention of the word death immediately brings somberness, uneasiness, and heaviness in our hearts. The one topic which demands our maximum attention happens to be the most neglected, and gets the least attention. Death is not something most of us want to talk about or have a discourse on. Yet it is an experience we all must go through. A discussion and dialogue about death is very seldom engaged in the media or preached from the pulpit. The federal government does not have a department of wisdom to shed light on this subject. Many of us, knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously, live in slavery to the fear of death. There are few experts, agencies, voices or think tanks who can truly, with any degree of certainty, shed any light on this topic. And yet it is our biggest and deadliest enemy! Its certainty and universality cannot be altered!
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die. (Eccl. 3:1-2)
A few months ago, on the National Geographic Channel, I watched a weekend marathon of the world’s most difficult fix-it jobs. I was amazed and in awe on most of them. For example, fixing a broadcast TV antenna, by climbing a narrow tower about a thousand feet high above the ground or assembling a gate for a dam hundreds of miles upstream and then transporting it on the river and putting it meticulously in place. There was an amazing and challenging fix-it job in an atomic energy facility full of danger and which required great precision, skill, and teamwork. It was a weekend full of various fix-it jobs all over the globe and in different fields.
However we do not have a fix for our greatest enemy, death.
The brief story, "The Appointment in
