    Preface

Ellam is the keeper of a world outside the plane of existence, a world unknown to the world of mankind. People have often referred to her as the Sandman and Father Time, even though she is not a man. She rules a world that exists on the very edge of what is known as the real world—once a beautiful place and home to many people who could no longer exist in the real world.

The realm she rules was once very bountiful, luscious, green, and known to all those who inhabit it as Alurian. But as with all good things, there must also be evil, and that evil is known as Alurien, controlled by a vicious, hateful, and evil man known as the Knightmare. He is bent on ruling both worlds, which Ellam cannot allow. They have been at war for over one hundred and fifty years (well, by Alurian years anyway as years don’t pass there like in the real world).

As she battles this evil within her world, she watches, searches, and keeps an eye on those she believes to be the salvation of her world. But they belong to the real world, and she must be careful in bringing them to her as they are not due to dwell here for many years to come. She must bring them while they sleep.

Their names are John Nates, Kent James, and Greg Sanders. As of yet, they do not know one another, but that will change soon once they are brought to the Alurian Plains.

She has watched them grow, and age has come to see in them the qualities and values of the prophesied three of legend—the Alurian Warriors.

John Nates will be the leader and is known as Black Wolf here. In his life, he is a simple average man soon to start a job as a prison guard. Having recently been discharged from the Marine Corps, he is a striking man that carries himself as any leader would.

Kent James will be known as Littleman. He is tall and slender, and with full, sheer strength, he will be the muscle. And then there is Greg Sanders or Stinger, who (although short) has a very powerful swing and lands every punch.

And they will be needed very soon, sooner than even Ellam realizes until…

Ellam! We have trouble. The knight-crawlers are moving in, and we are all that’s left to fight, came a voice. No, replied Ellam. There are three others, and I’m afraid I will have to call them now. I just hope they are ready to face their destiny and save ours.

The three of legend that we have protected from the Knightmare?

    Yes. she replied.

She knew that time was running out, that she had no other option. She must call them. It would be midnight there, so they should all be sleeping, and it will therefore be easier to bring them through.

She ran from the room and out into the hall. She ran until she had passed three huge doors and only stopped after reaching the fourth. It is known as the sleep room, the room by which all the new residents enter through to bring them to the other side.

John awoke with a scream. Where the hell am I? he exclaimed.

You are in Alurian, and I am Ellam, the keeper, she tells him. There is no need to worry. You are safe, she tells him. Just then, a raspy voice sounds in the hall. It is coming from a frail-looking man with gray paling skin and big bold sapphire eyes.

Ellam, the other two are here as well.

    Thank you, Viper, she replied.

    What other two? John asked.

The other two warriors of course.

Knowing that all the men would be confused as to where they are and why they are here, Ellam requested that Black Wolf follow her. As they gathered the others, she escorted them out of the room and down the long, huge walled hallway to the conference room. After passing several other huge heavy-looking doors, she paused in front of one with what looked to be an ancient carving on it. It was a huge long circular table with many people seated around it, and they looked to be in deep conversation. She swung the huge doors open as if they only weighed a few pounds. The ancient wood creaked under her touch and pushed aside to reveal a massive and exquisite room filled with comfy chairs and small short round tables filled with papers and pictures. Waving them in, she led them to the neatest group of chairs and motioned for them to sit.

Here was where she began to explain to them how they were their last chance to win a battle that had raged in her world for over a century, and how only if they won would all the worlds be safe from the evil that was the Knightmare.

    The what? asked Greg.

The Knightmare, she replied. He is the ruler and keeper of Alurien, and he is determined to rule all of this world and yours. You three are all that now stands in his way, she explained.

Us? Greg questions. There is only the three of us and you two here, or well, that’s all I see, he continued. What are we supposed to do?

I thought you would never ask, Stinger.

    Stinger?

Who the hell is Stinger? Kent asked. His name is Greg, he continued.

Ah, yes. You are right, Littleman, Ellam began. She had forgotten that she had not told them their Alurian names as of yet. As she filled them in on their names and what they mean in here, she began to shuffle through the shelves on the long wall to retrieve their respective sleep stone embossed blades.

Stinger, your blade holds the purple sleep stone, which harbors your own personal strength as to your ability to hit hard and fast. Holding it to the light, the purple stone gleamed with life as Stinger took hold of it, admiring how it glowed with his touch. She handed Littleman his blue sleep stone and watched him in awe as his also begins to glow and emit a vibrant blue light at his touch. Knowing it would be impossible to explain to them the inner strength that makes the stones glow with their touch, she settles on telling them how she has searched for over one hundred years to find the bearers who would hold the power to yield the sleep stones.

Black Wolf, your blade is the black sleep stone of Alurien and hence the most powerful of all as it holds the power of both good and evil. Only a true leader of the Alurian Warriors can yield it and survive, she explained. But enough of that. Let’s get you to the weapons room so you can get what you need and train for your upcoming task.

Weapons room? they say together, making Ellam chuckle to herself as she envisioned them working as a team in no time. Yes, she replied, the weapons room.

She motions them to follow her out in to the hall of the palace of Alurian and heard them as they sucked in deep breaths in awe at how grand and intricate the hall was, with its high ceilings and extravagant etchings all along the walls, telling them along the whole way how the ancient markings would be an archeologist delight, as they are mixtures of all known languages of the real world and how it is here that all the departed beings of that plain become the people that live here.

Wait, Black Wolf bellows. Are you saying that this is where dead people come?

    Yes, she said.

Okay, so are we dead? he continued.

No. Of course not, she reassured him. You three are the only beings alive or dead that could ever enter here in the fashion in which you are here now.

And here we are, warriors, your weapons room. They entered an even bigger room than the last, with endless shelves that stretched from ceiling to floor and wall to wall. All of them are covered with weapons of all types, from small intricately inlaid blades to guns and rockets, books on warfare and combat.

Wow! exclaimed Littleman. Look at all this stuff. He picks up a gun from the table. Hey, what is this? A joke? This is a toy.

No, she said. This is no joke, and that weapon in your hands is no toy. Yes, I will admit. If I were to hold and handle it, it would be utterly useless. However, in the hands of the warriors, they are unstoppable and deadly. As long as, she continued, you always have your blades at your sides.

Then she began to show them around the room, informing them how they have anything they could possibly need to do whatever they thought may be necessary to enable them in the war. She informed them that as soon as they have trained and rested, she would begin to explain exactly how this war came to be and why it is imperative that they win for all the world’s sake.

She stood beside the door they entered and watched them as they began to revamp the jeep, adding weapons, ammo, and most things they would no doubt need in the upcoming event none of them could foresee coming at the time. Knowing that they must all be tired, Ellam suggested they get some rest before morning and offered to show them each to their rooms.

Ellam woke in the morning to find them already in the training room continuing their preparations for the unknown that was no doubt looming. Shortly after she arrived and just before she began to explain to them just what they were in for, Viper calls to the room on the intercom and tells her it is urgent that she hurry to the control room immediately. Sensing the urgency in his tone, she ran as fast as her nimble legs could with three warriors right in tow.

Out of breath and panting, she enters the room looking at Viper as to silently inquire the issue, and he informs her that the Alura stone is gone, stolen.

What’s the Alura stone? asked Black Wolf with a worried tone.

The Alura stone is half of the ancient stone that gives us our life and powers in Alura Prime. If it is reconnected to its counterpart in Alurien, all will be lost. Whoever yields both halves will have ultimate power over all of Alura Prime, and we cannot allow the Knightmare to hold both halves. If he connects them, then both our worlds are lost, Ellam explained, still winded.

So I don’t imagine we need to guess who has the other half then, do we? asked Littleman.

No, she replied. And we can’t allow him to gain our half. With this newfound knowledge and danger, the three ran from the room without a word and headed straight to the weapons room. Arriving directly behind them, Ellam saw that they were readying themselves for the mission, the mission that will surely cement their place as the prophesied three of legend or the death of them all. They are the Alurian Warriors as they will be known if they are successful.

As they finished loading the jeep with all the
