The Need for Rapid Deployment Is Now: Boots on the Ground
()
About this ebook
One of the most misquoted scriptures in the Bible that have given rise to the need for rapid deployment is now is Deuteronomy 32:30. This text has been changed to reflect a momentary burst of enthusiasm, motivation, and boldness. However, this text is not a declarative but an interrogative statement. It asks a question: "How can one chase a thousand and two put ten thousand to flight unless their rock had sold them and the Lord had given them up?"
This is a question that needs an answer. I believe Leviticus 26:7-8 will speak to this need of our collective effort, working together toward a single goal: to enlarge the kingdom of God. "And you will chase your enemies, and they will fall before by the sword.... Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will put ten thousand to flight; your enemies will fall before you by the sword."
The need for rapid deployment is now.

Dr. James R. Davis Sr. draws us back to the essential ministry and biblical calling of not only the local church but of every believer—evangelism. The mantra of our church is that we are empowered to win souls for Christ,
and I am grateful for a rare reminder of our individual and collective mission. The challenges of our time are a stark reminder for us to get back to our purpose because it is evident more now than ever that the world needs to know Jesus, and the church must be deployed to introduce Him to the world.
—Rubin Thompson
Pastor of Morning Star Full Gospel Assembly, Bronx, New York
If there ever were a need for rapid deployment of the church, it’s now! The obstacles we faced in 2020 required Godly wisdom, practical application, and unconditional love. Boots on the Ground takes us straight to the needy as good Samaritans and not to the other side, ignoring God’s will.

Dr. James R. Davis Sr., thank you for an inspiring, empowering, educational, and, most importantly, a motivating book to get us up and get to work now. We can do this! Dr. Davis, you have shown us what it means to be boots on the ground
for the kingdom of God by being our pastor, teacher, mentor, and, most importantly, an example. Now let’s do this!

This opportunity only comes once in a lifetime, and I am beyond humbled to endorse the wonderful work of Dr. James R. Davis, Sr. The literature that follows speaks volumes to his unrelenting effort to honor God with his gifts of teaching and writing in such a way that God’s intentions are met for His people. I have known the author since September of 2012, and I have experienced the most well-educated and traveled, patient, professional, hardworking gentleman I could ever meet. He has taught me so much over the years, and I am truly thankful for his wisdom. It is my hope that all readers of The Need for Rapid Deployment Is Now: Boots on the Ground will initiate a new perspective, a new relationship, and a zeal for Christ Jesus and His ministry.

Powerful, riveting, and humbling. Dr. Davis has rendered the body of Christ a thought-provoking and motivating call to action. While there remains one dark soul without the light of Christ, we must heed the call, for the time of deployment is now.

Year 2020 has been a year of tremendous economic, social, and spiritual challenges encompassed with fear and death. For many, our faith has been tested. The Need for Rapid Deployment Is Now: Boots on the Ground inspires us to get up from sitting down and to do the work of the church
so that the Lord’s house may be filled.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God… when Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
—Colossians 3:3–4 KJV, emphasis mine
To my wife, Lorraine Sutrina Peele Davis, who for the past fifty-five years has been my anchor in encouraging me to think clearly and rationally about my relationship with God and to engage in reflective and independent thinking. Confidently, her faith in me, along with her knowledge of the God of the Bible, has allowed me to think critically. Someone with critical thinking skills can understand the logical connections between ideas. I affectionately call my wife Lady because that is who she is—an extraordinarily strong lady who acknowledges God in everything.
