About this ebook
In today's global society with its surprises and uncertainties, you will need a supernatural, loving, and powerful assurance. Minds are being assaulted and bombarded with too much care and worries. They are becoming unharnessed and overwhelmed with overload of technology, news alerts of gruesome murders, shootings, etc. One thing we do not want is for our children and young people to become jaded and cynical. We've got to instill in this generation that they're more than someone who just happened to be born and whatever will be will be. No, you were fearfully and wonderfully made to make a positive impact on the world. You are not a mistake! Your life has purpose and meaning. You are a creation of God planted here on Earth to prosper, thrive, and love and be loved. Every devastating and catastrophic situation meant for your harm has a flip side-God's side-and guess who wins. I think you know the answer. It is God Himself. The younger and older generation can make a difference in their own life and the lives of others. There is hope. There is a supernatural love that passes all understanding and will lift you out of the deepest of depressions. Amen.

Carla and Tas, my wonderful daughter and son, thank you for your relentless prayers, support, and encouragement during the writing of this book. I could not have done it without you. You both never let me give up.
Introduction
Is what you see with your two physical eyes all there is to the world’s events? Do we, humans, have the strength, wisdom, and strategy to live successful, productive, and meaningful lives? Most definitely not. Without argument, it is God’s love, mercy, and grace (unearned favor) that enable us to navigate this earthly journey. For we are not wrestling against physical opponents but against invisible spiritual forces of wickedness, against powers, world rulers of this present dark age located in the supernatural realm.
We are not to cringe in fear and timidity because of these attacks—at least that was not God’s intention for His creation. We are to be in control of our destiny and thought life that should be in line with the word of God. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus
(Phil. 2:5). If our minds are not harnessed to that which is stable, secure, and anchored, we become unwilling targets for deception, lies, and illusions of the disobedient one, the devil.
The writer’s genuine intention is to let the reader know there is always hope, along with the outstretched, unwavering arm of our Christ, to reel you in out of the dangerous waters and steady you. Our enemy does not deceive us based on the color of our skin, our bank account, or our status in life. These issues are pointless to him. As a matter of fact, he labels those who put so much emphasis on these areas as foolish humans. However, he does go about looking for prey. I quote 1 Peter 5:8, Be well balanced, be sober, be vigilant and cautious at all times; for the enemy [the devil] roams around like a lion looking for someone to devour.
We are no match against him in our own strength. We must be firm, fearless, and steadfast in our faith through God to overthrow him.
I can truly attest to the authenticity of the contents of this book through experience by the grace and mercy of God through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
Chapter 1
My Destined Pathway
As the second born of four offspring to a young mother twenty years of age in a small town in the southeastern part of the United States right after WWII in 1947 aptly named Cary, North Carolina, was no small and easy feat. I was later told by my mother that I was the only one of her four children to be born at home. She described the birthing process as easy, gentle with a plopping
sound as I emerged from her womb. I often wondered why I was afforded this painless and peaceful entry into the world. My early childhood was normal and simple enough. I remember being surrounded by a loving yet firm and somewhat overprotective maternal grandmother, aunts, and uncle and an older sister.
I later learned that the painless and peaceful birth served as a cushion for the future trauma and assault that I would later experience on planet Earth.
I was about three years old during the early 1950s (1950 to be exact). Toddlers during this time were very independent, strong, and exploratory. One day, I had to relieve myself and at the age of three years was given the freedom to go outside unassisted. Do remember we were in a small southern town within a close-knit neighborhood with very few comforts and conveniences. Our bathroom was located outside, a few feet from the house; it was not an outhouse but was connected to the main plumbing. It was during this phase of my young life that I was confronted face to face with evil.
During that routine and very normal morning after entering the outside bathroom and actually sitting my little bottom on the commode, I saw
