Blueberry Reality Show - Ms. S. Lee

    Day 1

    July 24, 2014

    Somali pirates

    Morning

In my basic writing class, the teacher wanted us to read this article about the Somali pirates. By this being the year 2014, I would never believe that every country has not established a government. And to add to that, pirates still exist in this day, and time is weird. The country that still have pirates is located or bordered by Ethiopia, with the gulf of Aden to the north. This is a huge concern because pirates have a quest of holding ships for ransom. The movie, Captain Phillips, reflects the story behind this matter. If you like documentaries, invest in this DVD.

    Dual purpose…LOL!

    Afternoon

    This is embarrassing!

I was on the bus stop, and I happened to see this lady beside me. Bend over and squirt Purell hand sanitizer around her ankles. I could not help but to ask, Why do you need your ankles sanitized? Her dingy reply was, Sanitizer is similar to alcohol, so I mix it. So it can have a dual purpose. All I could do was giggle to myself.

    A Changed Mind!

    Evening

To end my day, I chose to go to the beauty store. The dollar general store and the gas station near Royal Farms. I have to include this because of the unique cycle of blessed happenings. My mother told me she was short on gas. So I told her I wouldn’t mind putting gas in the tank. Coming from one store, I thought to myself, I mind as well go to the gas station before I go to the second store. While at the gas station, this man was holding his baby and asking people for a few dollars because they were stranded and needed to catch the bus. I said, No! Then, he asked another couple, they said that they didn’t have it. So I changed my mind and gave him a couple of dollars. And the other people did too. The man was able to make his way home. After that, my stepfather shocked me while I was in the dollar store. And he said, I got your birthday money. It was right on time because I used some of the money. I really didn’t have to give to the stranded man for the bus. Thank God for blessings. If you take the time to bless someone, a blessing will surely return!

Kind bus driver versus mean bus driver

This morning was frustrating. I was accustomed to certain bus drivers and routes in the morning. I live on the 23 and 55 bus line. Usually around 9:30 a.m. through the week, two 23 buses leave before the 55 bus pull up to the stop. For some reason, one of the buses stopped at the corner and was labeled not in service. So once I saw that, I kept my eye on the third bus. Thinking and assuming it was going to be the 55 bus, the one I was waiting for. Lo and behold, the bus that pulled up switched the destination sign, changed from not in service to the number 55. I was not able to realize this destination sign until the bus was already pulling off and turning the corner. For some reason, something told me to run and get on the next bus. Even though, it was the wrong numbered bus. I wanted to see if I could catch up to the bus I needed.

Luckily, the 23 bus driver said, Come on, we’ll catch up to the bus don’t worry! So eventually, we caught up behind the 55 bus. I jumped off the 23 bus, ran, and yelled for someone to hold the 55 bus. For some reason, the bus driver did not want to wait for me. I kept on running because I was so close to her door. The bus driver looked at me running beside the bus, like I was Forrest Gump, and still refused to open her bus door. Sadly, the 23 bus driver saw what happened and allowed me to board his bus. He said that he was going to catch up to that bus driver to see why she wouldn’t open her doors. Unfortunately, when he pulled up beside her, she was very angry and appalled. I chose to run beside her bus to flag her down. The other bus driver tried to advocate by saying, That’s a part of their job, to be there for the public. The argument ended, and the kind bus driver took me to the transfer point, which was the next best option. Some bus drivers care enough to stop or wait and some don’t!

    Day 3

The guy that received my email address…

    Afternoon

I couldn’t help but stare because this guy got on the bus, and he looked sooo handsome! We made eye contact with each other at
