About this ebook

Today the chatter among evangelical teachers and preachers concerning the end of time seems almost deafening at times. Books, videos, feature films, magazine and newspaper articles--you name it, they all have something to say regarding the end times. And please hear my heart, I'm not disagreeing with them at all. I totally agree that we are today living in prophetic times. However, it seems to me that no one wants to address the question that appears to be on the minds of so many people. That question, "When will these things come to pass?" Hey, the disciples asked Jesus the same question in Matthew 24, right?Well, that's precisely what this book attempts to do. I want to answer that question as best as it can possibly be answered, and while I won't be able to give you the exact day or the exact hour of the coming events, if I'm correct--and I really think that I am--in what I share within this book, I'm totally convinced that I can get you in the proverbial ballpark, so to speak. And I will do so biblically--in other words, by using only what the Bible gives us.If you'll commit to reading this simple little book for many, if not most people, I can all but guarantee you that you will exit with a much better understanding of the chronology of God's Word. You will read and perhaps for the first time ever be able to comprehend the Gospel or "good news" of Jesus Christ, plus you'll come to appreciate just how little time may actually remain before the end-time events that everyone is talking about begins to unfold across the face of the whole earth. In other words, you will be able to better understand "God's man plan," and thereby, you will be better able to prepare for what lies ahead for all mankind.

    About the Author

    Introduction

As I thought about how I wanted to begin this book, I knew that I needed to come up with something that not only had the ability to capture, but also to hold people's attention as well. I wanted to include something that would possibly whet people's appetite regarding the prophetic events that the Bible clearly teaches lies ahead for all of mankind. I fear that way too many people today are clueless as to what's headed their way. I'm only saying that, as a rule, people today seem grossly uninformed concerning these future events. This is the one area where I may be able to help the most. As I see it, I have this one shot to help people truly understand what's coming, and I want to help them recognize their personal need to prepare ahead of time. I simply want to make the most of the opportunity that I have been afforded.

Now I must confess that the how to part of this equation turned out to be quite a struggle for me. I can't begin to tell you exactly how many times I've rewritten this one portion of this book in order to have it say and do all that I've desired. You won't believe how I finally decided to accomplish this. Believe it or not, after all the struggles, I simply decided to begin our time together by asking you one question. It's my hope that once people have been confronted with the reality of the question, well, they'll stick around and finish the book. It can't hurt you, and it just may help in ways that you never even knew that you needed help.

Before moving on, I would really like for everyone to know this one thing—I've worked pretty hard to keep this book as simple and as straightforward as I possibly could. I'm not here to impress anyone with my prophetic knowledge; certainly there are many people who possess far more knowledge than I do. I'm only here to help as many people as will listen prepare themselves for the things that I personally believe are coming our way—sooner rather than later. Okay, it's time to ask the question: Where will you be when all hell finally does break loose on earth?

No doubt this question will strike some of you as odd, but I can guarantee you that it's beyond imperative that everyone knows the answer before it simply becomes too late to matter.

Why? Well, it's because this particular question concerns the rapidly approaching seven-year tribulation (7YT) period; and for those who don't know, this will be, far and away, the most horrific end-time event of all those prophesied in the Bible for mankind's latter days. Jesus Christ (whom I will introduce you to shortly) said, If these days were not divinely shortened, no flesh would survive them. That being the case, it seemed logical to me that people might just want to know exactly what their options are regarding it.

Way too many people today, even if they do believe in Bible prophecy, think that this event could never happen within their lifetime. Therefore, they simply roll merrily along, eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage—that is until the flood takes them all away.

Now you must understand I'm not talking about a flood of water; I'm talking about a flood of evil. This evil will one day overtake the whole earth; and as alluded to earlier, I believe that it's all a lot closer than most people would venture to guess. Now I promise I'm not just saying these things for shock value—I have my reasons—but in order for you to totally comprehend what all those reasons entail, well, you're going to need to finish this book. In the end, I think you'll be glad you did.

Now let's talk about the actual timing of this particular event. If I'm right concerning the things that I'll be presenting within this book, then there can be no more than thirty prophetic years between our current generation and the beginning of the 7YT. But before you breathe a sigh of relief thinking thirty years is a lot of time before I need to be concerned about this stuff, I want you to know this—although I chose to use the figure of thirty prophetic years, I fully expect the 7YT to begin much, much sooner.

Exactly how much sooner, well, I'll just have to admit that I really can't say for sure, the reason being there are at least two other end-time events, which we'll discuss shortly, that directly affect the beginning of the 7YT.

Having said this, let's get back to the question at hand. Where will you be when all hell breaks loose on earth? It may surprise you to learn that there are really only three possibilities—and this is true for every one of the roughly seven billion people living on planet Earth today.

Again, if I'm right, then well inside of the next thirty prophetic years, every last one of us will find ourselves in one of these three places, and I can tell you upfront two of the three "ain't good at all."

In order to properly determine who will be where when the time comes, it's further necessary to separate the masses into one of three spiritual categories as well. These include the following:

The saved—dead or alive, it simply won't matter one way or the other.

The unsaved dead—these are the people who are alive today but die before the 7YT actually begins.

And finally, the unsaved living—these people are alive today and will remain alive at least long enough to witness the beginning of the 7YT.

Beyond that, all bets are off.

Simply stated, the saved includes all the people who while living on earth made the conscious decision to place their faith in Jesus Christ for their personal salvation. On the other hand, the unsaved, dead or alive, includes all of those who, for whatever reason, did not.

So now, when I ask you where will you be when…, you'll know that the answer depends on which of these three categories you fall under. To further clarify exactly who belongs where, I offer the following:

Regarding the saved, there's no doubt about it—every member of this group will be in "heaven" with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. They'll either be there by virtue of their own physical death, or they will have been transported there alive via an event known as the rapture.

For now, the rapture is when Jesus Christ instantly removes all of the saved from planet Earth. Yeah, I know, it sounds kind of crazy, doesn't it? But I promise you, it's not. And although it should go without saying, this is definitely the preferred route for every person living on planet Earth today. But sadly, I know enough to say that this simply won't be the case for the vast majority of mankind.

Which brings me to the unsaved—where might they be?

Let's take a look at the unsaved dead first. These are the people who are alive today but who die prior to the start of the 7YT. After their physical death, these will all be held in a "temporary place of torment." There they'll await the great white throne judgment (GWTJ). This judgment takes place at some point beyond mankind's earthly years, and I know for a fact that as of today, that's at least one thousand and seven prophetic years away.

So I'll go ahead and ask you while you're still alive—Heaven or torment, where would you rather spend your time?

The final group will be the unsaved living. These are the ones who, for whatever reason, failed to trust Jesus Christ for salvation prior to the aforementioned rapture; therefore, they were left behind. These people will be here to usher in the 7YT period; and while it may be true that this is preferred above that of the unsaved dead, the news is still not good for the majority of these people. Just in case you don't want to take my word for it, perhaps you'll want to take a look at what God has to say concerning the 7YT.

Revelation chapters 6 through 18 very vividly describes what this particular group can expect to encounter during that period—nothing less than "hell on earth" as I see it.

So here in a nutshell is the bottom line for everyone. Whether you like it or not, you, ma'am, you, sir, will personally find yourself in one of these three places when the 7YT finally begins on earth.

Will you be in heaven? Will you be among the tormented dead? Or will you remain alive to experience the horrors of the 7YT? No doubt and no exceptions—the answer will be determined by how you personally choose to deal with the person and the purpose of Jesus Christ while you're living here on earth. I simply cannot overemphasize the fact that you need to know that you know—ahead of time.

Before I wrap this all up, if Jesus Christ and personal salvation are still foreign concepts to you, help has arrived. I promised earlier that I would introduce you to Him and explain His purpose for coming to earth. Well, the following section is included to accomplish both of these tasks. It was written to help all people to understand exactly who Jesus is and why He came to earth nearly two thousand years ago. Before you leave this section, you'll also find the steps that lead to genuine biblical salvation. If you ignore everything else that I'm saying to you, please take the time to read this one section of the book. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that it could literally change your life forever.

Jesus Christ—Mankind's One and Only Hope

Before you finish this portion of the book, you certainly won't know everything that there is to know about Jesus Christ, but you'll know enough to make an educated decision as to whether or not you will trust Him to be your personal Lord and Savior.

Jesus Christ alone is the difference between spiritual life and death for every member of the human race past, present, and future. Therefore, it's absolutely imperative that everyone understand exactly who He is as well as why He had to come to earth so many years ago.

To begin, whether you claim to be Christian, Jew, Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Jehovah's Witness, Buddhist, Atheist, or whatever the case may be, friend, it simply does not matter. Religion won't help you one iota! It's been well said religion may keep you out of jail, but it won't keep you out of hell!

Only a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can do that. This is the only thing that will matter when everything else is finally said and done. There's no other person or purpose under the sun more important for all of mankind to comprehend than that of Jesus Christ—who He is, why He came, and why He had to die hanging on a Roman cross between two thieves.

So just exactly what is so special about this man, Jesus?

Eventually we'll spent some time discussing Adam, the first man, and the time that he spent fellowshipping daily with his Creator in the garden of Eden. We'll learn of Adam's eventual fall and subsequent expulsion from the garden due to sin, and we'll talk about how this one sin not only separated Adam but every one of his descendants down through the ages from being able to stand in the presence of a holy God.

This truth is known as the doctrine of original sin. By it, you and I are born with Adam's sin nature. Due to this sin nature, we're separated or alienated from God—not from God's love but from His presence. A holy God simply cannot fellowship with unholy mankind; the two are simply incompatible.

It's hard to explain the magnitude of this problem except to say that mankind was and still is powerless to restore this broken relationship. Obviously, if the problem were ever going to be fixed. God Himself would have to fix it.

Jesus Christ Is God's One and Only Fix for Our Sin problem!

Now I want to take a few moments and try to explain the specifics of this truth. I think once you're able to comprehend it, you'll agree that this really is the greatest story ever told!

Let's begin by looking at Romans 3:23. In this particular verse, we find one of the fundamental truths to be found in the Bible. It declares that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. In other words, we've all missed God's mark of perfection. God is holy, and we're not!

Now I need to hang out right here for a minute. If I may, I need to be very blunt with you.

Before Jesus will ever matter to you personally, before Jesus will ever be able to help you, you must agree with God concerning your own sin. I know that in today's Anti-Christian culture, the only thing that's considered sin is calling sin sin. To me, we're marred knee deep in the days when good is called evil and evil is called good. I'm pretty sure that I could write another book about this one subject; however, I know that I must move on. Again, all have sinned!

An awful lot of people will fill the pits hell because they refused to deal with the sin issue in their lives. They choose to ignore Romans 3:23 and opt to depend on their good works to persuade God to let them enter His heaven. May I just say that will never happen!

Good will never be good enough, and it simply doesn't matter if the good far outweighs the bad. You have still sinned and come short of the glory of God. You must realize that as the seed of Adam, you're a fallen human being. At your very best, you're tainted by sin and unholy in the eyes of God; so if you're somehow still clinging to the hope that God is going to forgive or perhaps sweep your sin under the rug based on your good works, you're sadly mistaken. Your very best is still as filthy rags in God's eyes. Therefore, you stand in need of a Savior.

If you can't agree with this truth or maybe you think you're somehow the exception to the rule, you'll never be saved! As much as I hate to say it, if this is you, well, you may as well close this book right now. Neither I nor anyone else can help you any further! My friend, that's tough love!

But know this—when you present your resume of goodness to Jesus Christ, you should be prepared to hear these words: I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! (Matthew 7:21–23 NKJV).

You must acknowledge the truth of Romans 3:23!

And, relative to our sin, it appears that the news only gets worse as we go. Romans 6:23a further declares the wages of our sin is death. No doubt, this verse includes physical death for sure. However, apart from the rapture, the saved and the unsaved alike will all, at some point, succumb to physical death. That's a given—100 percent of us will die physically apart from the rapture.

The real issue here is spiritual death, or as the Bible calls it, the second death. Herein lies the fork in the road that separates the saved and the unsaved of mankind. This second death can be equated to eternal separation from God. As I stated earlier, due to our inherited sin nature, we're all physically born spiritually dead. If this one issue never gets fixed in your personal life, then sooner or later you're going die physically and still be spiritually separated from a holy God. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you allow this to happen, you will then spend eternity separated from God and in a place that was created for the devil and his angels which, by the way, is the place of eternal torment mentioned earlier called hell.

Well, you can bet the farm I certainly don't want to stop right here; and thanks
