About this ebook

The Cry When is it appropriate to start crying to the Lord for help? Crying is an utterance of a loud voice; throughout generations believers have always cried to the Lord in times of our distress. It can take several years of praying to create a single cry which causes deliverance to happen (Psalms 56:9). When we cry out to the Lord, it is an act of despair and supplication; it is an expression of our faith and trust in God. -Stephen Miller, excerpt from chapter 3

    Acknowledgements

First I want to acknowledge God for giving me the ability to write this book, for placing his divine message into my spirit so this book will help and strengthen believers concerning forgiveness.

It has been a while since the Holy Spirit placed this vision to write this book, and finally God has given me these seven chapters to address in this book, so I give God all the honor and glory for what he has put into my spirit and heart. The book comprises some of my life experiences, everyday struggles believers encounter with forgiveness. A young man growing up in Trinidad, I have seen what unforgivingness can do to families, marriages, homes, and individual lives. I am sharing from my heart and soul by the power of the Holy Spirit. We must seek the Lord in order for us to conquer forgiveness as individuals and help heal the church to overcome it. Forgiveness must and should always speak to the mind, body, soul, and spirit, so it is time for true believers to obey the voice of God concerning forgiveness and encourage our members to start practicing the art of forgiving.

For all those reading this book, I trust that it will help you to release forgiveness and point you into the direction whereby you will deal with forgiveness and destroy the works of darkness in your situation. May this book bless you in your walk with the Lord and also encourage you to help others. Judge not and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven (Luke 6:37, NKJV).

    Chapter One

    Forgive but Not Forget

When we learn and understand why we need to forgive one another, we can develop a better relationship with the Father, the Lord himself. For years some of us have struggled in our walk with the Lord. We say things like "I forgive, but I do not forget." In life, and if we are going to be honest with ourselves, that statement is true because we are human beings; we are born with a nature whereby we need to be loved, appreciated, and comforted and to know that people care about us . And when things do not flow or someone that we know and love very much hurt us or make us look foolish, then it is very easy to develop bitterness, hatred, anger, and malice.

If we take a very close look at these four devices, it will help us first to understand who we are as a human being. What is bitterness? It is anger and resentfulness; we know that of Ephesians 4:31–32 (NKJV). "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put
