About this ebook
The author spent his childhood and some early years of his adulthood in worshipping the cow, a ritual of Hindu religion. He used to have a very negative view about Christianity and the Western culture that freely permits the eating of beef (cow), which was a clear, common taboo in his past culture. In the quest for finding the truth, he gets acquainted with the Western and Christian cultures and finally gets converted to Christianity.
After his conversion, he holds a complete opposite view about Christianity and even his past culture and religion. This book is filled with personal experiences and instances of his life before and after conversion. The contrasts between Christianity and the cow-worshipping culture described in this book are stark and vivid. The author also seems to be very delighted and thankful for his newfound hope and religion. He tries to challenge his readers with similar backgrounds to examine their faith and worldview and make an informed and educated choice about spirituality and the spiritual life. The testimonies described in this book should serve as an eye-opener for many.

The More I Know, the More I No
In loving memory of my beloved mother
About the Author
To my beloved daughter, Eliyanah Grace Thapa
I decided to write this book about thirteen years ago, in 2008, when I first became a Christian, but life happened, and I was always putting it off for next time. Over the years, I had forgotten about it, until recently my daughter reminded, encouraged, and motivated me to complete the book. She told me that she wanted to be a writer when she grew up. I told her that I had always wanted to be a writer, too, but never had time. She told me to finish the book that I was supposed to be writing and mention her in the book. So I decided to finish this book.
This is more of a personal testimony and revelation that I got in my life than an actual conventional book. I hope and pray that the readers will be blessed by this testimony. I want to thank God for putting in my heart the thoughts and desires to complete this book and the Holy Spirit for inspiring and guiding me and for giving me the words to write this book. I also want to thank my family and my wife, Miriam Esther Thapa, for encouraging me to complete this book.
This is a story about God's plan, purpose, and His revelation in my life. It is a redemptive story about how God cares about His creation, especially His people, whom He breathed His Spirit into. This story highlights the events in my life that helped change, transform, and convert my belief and my faith in the belief systems. In short, this story is my true story about how the true God, the God of the Bible, saved a cow-worshipper like me. The events described in this book are personal experiences and recollections, hence, very near, dear, and real to my heart. This book tries to capture the events and my thought process before and after the born-again experience. I have not made an attempt to compare and contrast these processes in extensive length, but I leave this liberty to the readers to do that.
I would like to remember my late high school English teacher, B. S. Khadka, a.k.a. Baba Sir, who was a vital mentor figure in my life. It was my desire to give him a copy of this book once it got published, but alas, he is no more in this world. I had told him about this book that I was working on, and he was anticipating it too, but he never got to see it. Hence, I would like to dedicate this book in his sweet and loving memory. I want to remember the contribution that he made in my life many years ago when I was still a young soul.
O Lord, O Lord!
God of the living and the Divine Word
I was so deaf, and I was so blind
Had forgotten your goodness yet you were kind
O Lord, O Lord!
I was lost and I was sold
Sold to the world and caught in stronghold
How I was prodigal and ran from thee
Yet you did not rebuke or forsake me
O Lord, O Lord!
I was indulged in my idolatry and my sinfulness
Ran from you and lived in the foolishness
Drained my soul with fake faith and lustfulness
You came for me and saved me nevertheless
O Lord, O Lord!
I had no way and was in misery and distress
But you came along and comforted with your grace
You were an eagle yet came down as a dove
You were gracious and showed me your steadfast love
O Lord, O Lord!
How can I forget the strife and the sacrifice done for me?
When I was deaf and blind, I did not hear or see
Now you have opened mine eyes, so everything is clear to me
In awe and reverence hence, I am thankful to thee
O Lord, O Lord!
Road to the righteous is narrow, hence travelers are few
But I spent my youth looking and searching for you
My quest was not futile and did not go in vain
Finally, I found you, which was for me the highest gain
O Lord, O Lord!
I
