    About The Author

    PREFACE

Volume 1 contains forty-eight manuscripts that have been completed and produced as podcasts.

These bi-monthly episodes run from December 2020 through November 2022 and can be found on Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts and the website www.journeytofutureevents.com.

These manuscripts are biblically based and the topics chosen by the author. The desire is that readers will find interest in the topics discussed, dig deeper for themselves, and come to the place where they will have a true relationship with God through His Son, Jesus.

There is only one way to eternal life in Heaven and that is through, Jesus.

    EPISODE 1

    Introduction

Are you ready? I ask—are you ready? A new podcast is being introduced and it is very important. This is episode 1 and it is about you! The podcast is titled You and God’s Word. It is for the greatest generation—those born prior to 1946. It is for the baby boomers—those born from 1946 through 1964. It is for generation x—those born from 1965 through 1980. It is for the millennials—those born from 1981 through 1996. And it is for generation z—those born from 1997 through today.

Future episodes will cover a wide range of topics and I know most will be of interest to you. Let me whet your appetite and share some of the future topics:

Eschatology, who is God, the Bible, Holy Spirit, social justice, glorified bodies, Rapture, Third Temple, coronavirus pandemic 2020, Biblical wars, your future, abortion, guardian angels, Satan, Tribulation and the Millennium.

These are just a few of many interesting topics ahead. Stay tuned! These topics are biblically based and supported by scripture.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many Christian denominations, churches and cults. It is a matter of Bible interpretation and man’s own additions to the Bible. A warning comes from Revelation 22: 18-20 in which God tells us not to add or take away words from the Bible.

    Here are some examples:

Regarding the Tribulation there are four main positions: pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib, and pre-wrath.

Regarding the Millennium there are three main positions: amillennialism, pre-millennialism and post-millennialism.

And finally the most important—who is Jesus? Is Jesus part of the triune God: God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We will discuss all of these in future episodes.

So why another podcast? Why would you take time and listen to this podcast? One answer—it is all about you and God’s word. You are the one and only like you. Out of 7.7 billion people on earth today—or of the 110 billion people who have ever lived—you are the one.

You are very important—God made you in his own image. He made you to have fellowship with God and for you to glorify God. The problem we face is that since Adam sinned we are all born with a sin nature. God gave each of us a free will so that we can make our own decisions.

God has given us a limited time on this earth—maybe an average of 80 to 85 years. During that time He wants you to know him personally and to have a victorious Christian life.

So how are you doing? Is your life fulfilling whether single or married; with kids and grandkids; with your work and career; with friends; how is your spiritual life and church afilliation; your life priorities?

I know these podcast episodes will challenge you, will educate you, and will make you dig deeper. They will help you make the right decisions for your life. You are made with a body, soul and spirit. And God’s spirit wants to communicate with your spirit.

Enjoy this podcast—thanks for listening—and I look forward to you subscribing to You and God’s Word. It is planned to have a new episode bi-weekly and likely go weekly in the future. Episode 2 is titled Eschatology.

Please subscribe and enjoy You and God’s Word.

    EPISODE 2

    Eschatology

Welcome to the Podcast You and God’s Word—let me introduce Episode 2 this way. I recently met a friend of mine and in our discussion we talked about our current passions—I told him my passion was eschatology. He quickly reminded me that he had not heard that term since his time at Moody Bible Institute years ago.

So, what is eschatology—it is the study of what the Bible says is going to happen in the end times. In fact, it is God revealing history in advance. It is the study of the destiny of humankind as revealed in the Bible. It can be the end of an individual life—the end of the age, or the end of the world as we know it.

The word eschatology comes from the two Greek words—meaning last and study.

Did you know that over one-fourth of the Bible is prophecy. It is estimated that over 2000 prophecies have been fulfilled and that over 500 remain to be fulfilled. And a FYI—over 10,000 of the 31,102 verses in the Bible contain prophecy. That is exciting—I want to keep my eyes and ears tuned for the next prophecy fulfillment!

Here is a guarantee—these prophecies are in the Bible and will happen—but only God knows the timing of these events. Scripture encourages us to search the Word to determine the nature of things to come. And by the way—we are going to do that with these podcasts.

Let’s look at Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

Did you hear that—you will be blessed if you read, hear and take to heart these prophecies.

I came up with a saying that rings a bell with me often—it is prophecies become clearer as end times draw nearer. You will hear that often in these podcasts.

You have to agree with me that the world is in chaos—the world is upside down—what was right is wrong—and what was wrong is right—what a mess our own country is in. There are no absolutes any longer. We can see things happening today that are mentioned in the Bible—things are happening more frequently and converging rapidly as we approach the end of this earth as we know it. I read this recently things are not falling apart—they are falling in place.

So, what is the purpose of eschatology? Only one purpose and that is to glorify God.

Why dig in and study eschatology? Here are just a few of many:

1.It gives us a clear picture of who God is—God is in control.

2.It should motivate us to holy living—strengthens our faith.

3.It should help us establish proper priorities in life—to live holy—and not fool around with the fleeting pleasures of this world.

4.It is a great evangelistic tool.

5.It helps us look forward to Heaven
