About this ebook
It was the evening of April 20, 2021. I had just come out of a four and a half hour surgery that morning to remove my prostate, after being diagnosed with an aggressive prostate cancer.
As I woke up in the recovery room I was filled with thanks that I came out of surgery perfectly well, and I knew I was about to begin a new life.
That night as I lay in my hospital bed, with tubes sticking out of my body, I wasn't thinking about the surgery I had just come through or the pain I was currently in. All I could think about was the stars and how God placed each one in exactly the place He wanted them to be and that He named each one, and yet still made time for me that morning to do something amazing before my surgery. It was a remarkable feeling. The God who created the heavens and the earth knew exactly what my fears were before surgery and turned everything upside down for me and revealed Himself to me in all His beauty and grace.
It was God Himself who placed those thoughts of the stars in my mind that evening and The God Who Named the Stars was conceived that very night on April 20, 2021.
Psalms 147:4 "He counts the stars and calls them all by name."
This book is a testament to the scripture from Genesis 50:20 which says "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
Had I not gotten sick, I never would have written these songs or this book that is meant to be an encouragement and a hope to you who may be going through something hard right now.
In order to get the most out of this book, I recommend that you find the album "The God Who Named The Stars" and listen to each song after reading the corresponding chapter. This album is a concept album that follows a sequence of events that I was going through during that time. I wrote down all that I was feeling, being very honest with myself, my fears and hopes and I created songs to go along with them. It is with great hope that you follow my trials and fears and trust and eventual peace that you may be able to relate to and find that place of peace for yourself.
