The Toddler Parenting Bible - Guzman Mia

    Introduction

Parenting is probably the most difficult job a person can have. It comes with managing your children’s needs, behavior, unique quirks, attitudes, and traits which only you as a parent can understand. It is considered the most underrated job and is often neglected. As a result, parents are also considered the most patient people.

In this book, you will learn more about how to handle your toddlers better. This book will give you tips and tricks that will be beneficial in everyday living. This book also aims to build a foundation, so you can see children for what they are. As the bundle of joy in every family.

    Positive and Productive Potty Training

Potty training is not easy. Your patience will be tested. The strategies and methods in this book will help you teach your child how to use the toilet.

First, determine if your child is ready to learn how to use the potty. You cannot teach a child who is not ready yet, no matter how hard you try. Here are some indicators you should look for:

Can he stay dry for at least two hours in a day?

Do you think he follows simple instructions? Or can he follow what you say?

Is he trying to please you?

Does he seem interested and able to use the potty, toilet, or bathroom?

Does he seem to want to wear underwear now?

Does he now complain about dry or wet diapers?

Is he able to walk and run now?

Is he currently wearing his most stylish clothes?

Does he use facial signs or words to let you know that he needs to poop/pee now?

Is he able to stand up and sit on a commode chair?

Is he able to take his pants off and put them on?

Does he know the meaning of terms like wet/dry, urine, poop, and bowl?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, your child might already be ready for potty training.

So now, your child shows all the signs that they are ready for potty training. That's great! But where do we even start?

Explain to your child that this is a normal process, like how animals need to go to the bathroom, too. Talk to your child about the toilet. It's a place where he can use the restroom just like other children. Tell him about the toilet and let him flush it on his own. Explain that he will not be wearing diapers but underwear. Find educational and entertaining videos that teach his favorite characters how to potty train. Involve other family members and stress the importance of being consistent throughout the process.

Take your toddler to a store to buy some underwear. Let him decide what to buy. The underwear will have much more meaning if your child helps pick it out. Doing this will avoid any difficulties fitting into tight clothing, tight-fitting clothes, or large shirts. It would be most helpful if you put these clothes away for the time being. Decide whether to use pull-ups, short pants, or regular underwear and try to stick with that decision so he is consistent and does not get confused. Consider whether rewards are something your child would like to receive. You will need a strategy to deal with potty problems while away from home.

Ask your child's caregiver for advice if he is in childcare. Make sure there are no rules or guidelines that could be problematic. Let them know you are starting the process. Ask for their support.

Your child should be praised for each successful trip to the bathroom. Comfort him if he has an accident. Be patient and calm when he makes mistakes. Avoid giving him candy or other sweet rewards. It will take time for your child to learn to use the toilet. Encourage him and congratulate him on each successful attempt. He will soon be able to use the potty, so it’s advisable to encourage and praise him.

    Child Safety

Particularly when the parents are young, having a toddler at home is difficult for them. Parents feel the need to intervene when their child begins to cry. They may not respond immediately if the toddler continues to cry due to their insecurities.

American children are most likely to die in accidents at home. They can avoid these injuries by taking simple precautions. Your home will be safer for your child and the children who visit.

Now is the right time to check your home. Your child is more mobile and more curious than ever. It will ensure that playtime is safe. These are just a few examples:

A safe play area - Even if your child has his own bedroom or playroom, he will not play there alone. He wants to be
