The Yard Sale - Patricia Preston

    What Reviewers Are Saying

THE YARD SALE was funny and had lots of surprises. You will love reading it. I did.

I so enjoyed this story. I’ve been a yard sale diva for years, and I loved the vivid pictures painted of those looking for a deal.

If you like Fannie Flagg, you’ll like this Southern story.

    What a GREAT character lineup.

A delightful, charming, and heartwarming slice-of-life story.

Delivered an enjoyable diversion and an unexpected, touching message.

The humor is low-key, but had me laughing out loud.

Jennifer’s tips for having an extraordinary yard sale:

Early Birds arrive at dawn, so be ready to roll.

Stand up to Tightwads. Will you take less than a quarter? Seriously!

Show some love for Pack Rats because they’ll buy anything.

Try not to be too obvious when Prince Charming shows up.

Most importantly, realize some things have a greater value than money.

    THE YARD SALE

JENNIFER, GET A move on it, Gail called from the kitchen door. The Early Birds are here.

What time was it? Was it daylight yet? I peered out my living room window to see the first hint of a summer day arriving and two cars parking in front of my house. Unbelievable!

I pulled on a green tank top and shoved my feet into a pair of white sandals.

Big women emerged from the vehicles. A couple of them hadn’t taken the time to comb their hair. The Early Birds were hunting for bargains and weren’t wasting a minute. A black F-150 pickup rolled up to the curb, pulling an empty trailer. Two men climbed out of the cab, and I
