Adriel Chevalier

Adriel Jacques Chevalier descended from a French family that migrated to the Netherlands before immigrating to the United States. His family's vocation centered around the jewelry and watchmaking business for generations. However, Adriel was never adept with handling the delicate parts of tiny machinery. Instead, he turned his interests to the software industry that was just becoming popular in his young, adult life. He found that logic and problem solving better suited his skills, and he excelled in his field.Adriel's elder sister had taught him to read and write at the age of three. Due to boredom suffered from structured learning, he sought to educate himself from his youth. In his adult life he spent decades studying ancient history and various writings, mostly centering around Christian and Judaic literature. Some of his studies he opted to conduct in the pre-translated, original language to gain a clearer understanding.Always frustrated with the structure and politics of organized religion, he sought relationships according to the instruction of the Messiah, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." Adriel recognized that the Messiah's name was synonymous with his authority, which is Truth, and that any group larger than three brought annoying problems.Adriel and his fellows departed from the mainstream teaching of the established religions and embarked on a journey that led them on a quest for intrinsic Truth. Through many enlightening revelations and miraculous experiences, Adriel came to recognize that much of what is taught today concerning the Creator and his anointed one is rubbish. He forsook the erroneous cliches, rhetoric and discrepancies of the religious culture and embraced Truth, which is available to any man anywhere at any time.Although it was contrary to Adriel's belief system to share his findings in a rhetorical document, in his latter years he decided to envelop them into works of fiction to be enjoyed by others. He has developed several stories with elements of actual experiences and enlightenment for others to enjoy and ponder.

    To the Reader

This adventure is the sequel to Adriel’s experiences with the Templar Secret. He is hired by the same secret society for a seemingly impossible task. Many secrets are revealed in this novel that are difficult to swallow. If you choose to indulge, take care not to choke. Most will shake their heads in disbelief, but take note that if possible, even the very elect would be deceived.

This is a work of fiction, and any resemblance to persons living or dead is merely coincidental.

    CHAPTER ONE

    The Contract

ADRIEL, THIS IS a fool’s errand. Why would the Secret Society be willing to pay twenty-billion dollars for something that is nothing more than a fable?

But, Joey, it’s not a fable. I know you don’t believe in the writings, but the Secret Society does. Mr. Chemin claimed that they have deciphered every aspect of the Book of Revelation except for this one point about the seven thunders which were not allowed to be revealed.

Joey rolled her eyes. Yes, I have read that cryptic work, and it’s written in such a way that you could attribute the symbolism to just about any cataclysmic world event. During World War Two, everyone thought that Hitler was the Antichrist, and it was the end of the world. However, time has proven them wrong. This ranks up there with the works of Nostradamus, which I also read, and they too are cryptic messages that could apply to many historical events. This contract you are entertaining is nonsensical.

Well, it’s not entirely my call. The Agency Review Board insists that I accept the contract. They want the twenty-billion.

But, Adriel, you’re destined to fail. Unless, of course, you intend to dupe them the way you did when you were commissioned to find the Templar Secret. You never delivered it to them, but we kept it for ourselves. You know, I never condoned your deceitfulness in that matter.

And what choice did I have? The Brotherhood of the Secret wouldn’t allow me to disclose it. I have to care for it, and by the way, you were indulging it on a daily basis.

Yes, I understand that, but you could have told them that you weren’t allowed to deliver it.

Oh, sure, and that would have meant that I failed the project, and the Agency wouldn’t have received the ten-billion dollars. Plus, they would have demanded that I share the secret. There’s no way I could be forthcoming with them. I had to give them something that would satisfy their request, and as far as I know they most likely have made no progress with it.

Joey squinted and replied, I rather doubt that, Adriel. Otherwise, why would they want to hire you again for twice the compensation to the Agency?

Adriel filled their coffee cups and eased back into his seat on the patio. The day was sunny, and the temperature was perfect as the palm trees swayed. A slight breeze wafted through the air bringing the fresh aroma of flowers that surrounded them as they sat in the sunshine. Adriel’s personal assistant, Kristina, was cleaning the kitchen after breakfast and preparing for the evening meal. Joey’s assistant, Monique, was tending to their daughter, Vivi, who had just turned two years old. It was nearly a year ago that Adriel had shifted their three groundskeepers to nannies after Joey had given birth to triplets. Emily, Fanette, and Rochelle were watching over the three identical sisters, Annette, Yvette, and Suzette. This was one of those rare moments when Adriel and Joey could discuss business.

You know, Joey, for someone who was the most successful assassin for the Agency until you retired, you are overly critical of me. You had to deceive people all the time in order to get close enough to terminate them.

Adriel, there is a big difference between playing a part to execute your mark and lying to your client and the Agency. I never did that, nor would I. You play a dangerous game because you know exactly what they would do if they ever found out what you did.

Well, thankfully you are retired, otherwise you would be obligated to report me.

Yes, and I wouldn’t hesitate. You know that.

Yes, dear, I realize that. You never lie, you never cheat, and you never bluff, and you always adhere to protocol. I’m sorry, but I just can’t do that in my position.

So, when are you meeting with the Secret Society?

I’m scheduled to join them in their subterranean location beneath the Karakum Desert in Turkmenistan tomorrow afternoon at two o’clock their time.

I have traveled this world many times, Adriel, and I have never heard of these people. You said that there are one hundred forty-four thousand of them dispersed around the world in seventy locations, and the remaining ten are the leaders that travel to those locations throughout the year.

Yes, it’s a secret society, much like our agency. We deny our own existence. However, they differ from us in that they don’t control global events, and they remain isolated from the world. Each location is self sufficient. They grow their own food, produce their electrical power, and they are all vegetarians. They are also celibate men who have never been with a woman nor tasted alcohol, and they claim to be the same one hundred forty-four thousand spoken of in the Book of Revelation.

So, are they all Jewish men from every tribe of Israel as detailed in Revelation?

No, the list of tribes in Revelation do not coincide with the twelve tribes of Israel as they inhabited their land in the Old Testament days. In addition, after the deportation to Babylon, only three tribes returned to Israel, which were Judah, Benjamin, and Levi, so nine of those tribes ceased to exist. Mr. Chandler, whom I dealt with on the Templar project, explained to me that the twelve tribes mentioned in Revelation are a symbol of their society. They only allow one hundred forty-four thousand active members, but they have many initiates waiting to fill in for those who expire. The interesting aspect to his disclosure was that each initiate is asked which tribe he represents without knowledge of the available positions. They maintain twelve thousand from each tribe, which is divinely supplied to them.

Joey closed her eyes and shook her head. Yes, just what this world needs, another fanatical religious cult. So where do they get the money to hire you for twenty-billion dollars if they stay so isolated?

Their society has existed for over two thousand years, according to Mr. Chandler. They have benefited mankind for two millennia, and they have received gifts and donations from various countries throughout the years, which they have invested into an enormous fortune.

What do they do that’s so lucrative?

Mr. Chandler refused to explain, but I have seen some of the things that they have received from kingdoms around the world throughout the centuries, and they are priceless.

So, what are they doing in the middle of the Karakum Desert, and how can they be self sufficient? They certainly can’t have gardens there.

Mr. Chandler said that their locations have to be evenly distributed around the globe, and they cannot reside within fifteen-hundred kilometers of one another, which must have put this location in the Karakum Desert. How they are self sufficient, I have no idea, but I’m soon to find out. I’ll tell you what I can, but most of what I learn has to be kept secret.

Well, they have no idea what your navigational capabilities are. Surely you aren’t just going to appear in the desert.

No, of course not, I’ll be meeting their liaison at the Ashgabat International Airport. They think that I’m flying in on an agency jet, so I can keep my arrival a secret. From there, I will be escorted to their location in the desert.

Monique brought their daughter, Vivi, to Joey because it was time for her breastfeeding. Adriel decided to walk the gardens with Kristina after she finished with the kitchen responsibilities. He waited as she filled her coffee mug before joining him. They descended the stone walkway that led to the beach and took a left turn on the last grass path that wound its way through the northern gardens. The banana trees were loaded with fruit, and the rubber trees needed to be trimmed as they hung over the pathway.

Kristina pushed one of the branches back as they passed. Monsieur, now the that the girls are nannies, no one is left to tend to the gardens.

Yes, this was an oversight on my part, Kristina. Since we have begun to care of our Secret, the gardens no longer need to be weeded. However, they are growing at a rapid rate. I may need to hire a caretaker to prune them.

Monsieur, there are over twenty-five acres of manicured garden area. Do you think one caretaker will be enough?

Well, since pruning and harvesting are basically the only tasks to be done, I believe that on a rotational cycle during the week one caretaker can accomplish the tasks during a twelve hour shift during the night.

But now that the girls are nannies, they sleep during the night instead of tending the gardens. The caretaker will be opposite their sleep schedules, and she will have to reside at the caretaker villa with the others. Plus, she will be working while they are indulging one another and sleeping.

I see your point. I need for you to place an ad in that online newspaper, Lesbienne élégante, to hire two French girls between eighteen and twenty years old to fill the caretaker positions. Please include the salary of half a million U. S. dollars. Use your cell phone as the contact number, and set up the interviews. I will make the final decision, but I want you to screen them first.

Will Madame want to interview them also?

No, no, she hasn’t wanted to be involved in the business of our estate since the triplets were born. However, that’s not why I invited you on this walk. You are overdue for a healing session.

What you may not know is that our subconscious inhabits a physical body just as we do. However, he, or she, resides in a different realm. Our subconscious appears to us according to our sexual orientation. Heterosexuals see their subconscious counterparts as the opposite sex, while homosexuals see them as the same sex. Please don’t ask me what a pansexual experiences because as of this date I haven’t encountered any who have met their counterparts, so I don’t know. The subconscious is responsible for recording everything that we think, say, or do. She is also responsible for supplying all of our dreams, premonitions, guidance, and healing.

Your belief system may find it difficult to accept it, but I’m merely explaining this concept in order that you understand some of the things that you have experienced. Whether you believe in a Creator or not, is of no concern to me, but a hierarchy exists of which the last entity in line to us is our subconscious. Until you meet your subconscious counterpart in bodily form, you cannot enjoy the healing process that he or she provides. The only explanation I can give is that it is likened to the most incredible sexual experience that you could imagine. However, it’s truly not sexual, but our limited understanding often interprets it that way.

Another interesting aspect is that our subconscious expects us to give her a name. Honestly, I think this is more for our benefit to accept her as a separate entity, although she, or he, is truly part of us. She often describes herself as another one of our body parts, although separate from our bodies, if we die, she dies. She can’t make any decisions for us, as we are the ones with free will. Our counterparts must do what we decide, which is sometimes contrary to what they want, but they are obligated. Most of us in Adriel’s entourage have been introduced to our counterparts, and it is a life-changing experience that is indescribable. This healing process is what Adriel has invited Kristina to enjoy, as we normally do it daily.

Oh, Monsieur, it has been two days, and I was afraid that you forgot.

No, Kristina, I didn’t forget. Until you learn to navigate the Golden Highway on your own, I will have to take you to Sophus. I, in turn, will meet with Yvonne for my healing, and we will return together at the same time that we left.

OK, here is the more incredible aspect of the Golden Highway experience. During the Ophir project, Adriel learned how to access the Golden Highway, which is the hub of space and time. The details are recorded in the previous adventures. It is a navigational step that puts him and his companion on the Golden Highway. It stretches as far as the eye can see in two directions. A gentle breeze flows down the highway from our left to our right as we enter. It signifies the passing of time. The landscape is adorned with shrubs and trees that sparkle like a myriad of precious gems. An incandescent bright glow illuminates the environment and seems to emanate from everywhere.

Once we have entered that realm holding hands, we clap our free hands together to summon our counterparts. They always approach from the other side of the highway and extend their clasped hands in front of us. We then transfer each of our clasped hands to theirs and depart in opposite directions with our counterparts as a couple for our healing at another location. No matter how many hours we spend, we meet back on the Golden Highway, and Adriel takes the step into the breeze that repositions us in time to return to the exact moment that we left the Golden Highway with our counterparts. In essence, we splice time as though we never left. Otherwise, ten minutes on the Golden Highway could equate to several hours on earth. There is no exact correlation.

Kristina grasped Adriel’s left hand. He took the step, and they were immediately transported to the Golden Highway. He held out his right hand, and Kristina smartly smacked it with her left. Instantaneously, Kristina’s and Adriel’s counterparts approached from the other side of the highway holding hands. The two couples extended their embraced hands, and Kristina shifted her right hand to her counterpart, as Adriel shifted his left hand to his counterpart. Kristina and Sophus walked in one direction, as Adriel and Yvonne walked in the opposite direction.

Yvonne looked over at Adriel. Where should we go today?

Adriel shook his head. Let’s return to Paris in a room with a view of the Tower.

In an instant, they were in an unoccupied hotel room just north of the Trocadero. Yvonne began to undress him after dropping her white robe to the floor. Her skin was smooth as silk and clear as polished bronze. There wasn’t a single hair on her entire body. She took control, and in seconds Adriel was writhing with delight. Memory cannot contain the bliss that the healing process provides, making it seem new and unique every time. After three hours, Yvonne released Adriel so that he could recover. She held him tightly in her arms as she sweetly stroked his hair with her left hand.

Once he had recovered enough to communicate, Yvonne wanted to discuss his new project. Speech was unnecessary as Yvonne conversed with him telepathically. However, Adriel often spoke with an audible voice since it was more comfortable to him. Adriel, you know I warned you when you completed the Templar Secret project that you would be put right back into the same situation, and here you are having to provide your client with an impossible task. If you would have listened to me and failed that project, you wouldn’t be in this current dilemma.

Yvonne, you know damn well that I couldn’t do that. You also know that Joey basically told me the same thing. I was able to satisfy the client with the knowledge of how to enter a portal, albeit, they wouldn’t make any progress without a husband and wife team since they know of no other navigational steps.

That was totally irresponsible of you. They could get lost in a portal and never return. Have you no conscience anymore?

Look, you know full well that I disclosed to them all of the pitfalls and precautions. They didn’t enter their experiments without knowing the dangers. It was completely their choice to proceed. They are all celibate men, who have no chance of making it to the Golden Highway unless they employ a married couple. Even then, they have no instruction as to how to access their counterparts. They only know the steps of aku and aki to enter and return from the portal. I told them nothing else, but you already know that. As a result, I’m a celebrity with the Agency. I have delivered three of the most lucrative contracts that they have ever had.

Yvonne gave Adriel an incredulous look. And you think that’s something to be proud of? Adriel, the Agency manipulates this entire world. They depose rulers, rig elections, assassinate the unwanted, control the markets and the world economy, and that’s just the more benign things that they do.

Well, I have no choice. Since I took this position, they have injected me with a locator implant in my bloodstream, and they can find me wherever I am. If I ever defected, they would relentlessly hunt me down and terminate me. Even though I can jump from place to place via the Golden Highway, I have to sleep sometime, and that is when they would find me.

Yvonne was disgusted. You know, Adriel, I have been disappointed with you countless times in our life, but right now, I think this tops them all. You always have a choice, so stop making excuses to do whatever you want. You can fool others, and you can fool yourself, but you can never fool me.

Adriel and Kristina returned to the northern garden within seconds of when they left. Kristina threw her arms around Adriel and sweetly kissed his cheek. Oh, thank you, Monsieur, I desperately needed that. I hope your session was at least half as good as mine.

Well, the healing was stupendous, but Yvonne is a little upset with me, but that’s another story. I will be needing your help on my next project. I’m not sure what to expect, but you will be organizing my schedule, including time splicing intervals. I’m not allowed to duplicate myself in the same place at the same time, and I rely on you to prevent that.

Oh, yes, Monsieur, I did the same on the Templar project. I’m happy to do that for you. Will you be taking me with you?

I don’t know yet. I haven’t met with the client, and I don’t know the expectations, but I will let you know.

When Adriel and Kristina returned to the villa, he went straight to his closet to choose a suit for his meeting with the Secret Society contacts. Joey was sitting on the edge of the bed with a towel on her lap to catch the continuous flow of milk that fell from her breasts. She was always well endowed, and she was nursing four children. Her breasts often flowed long after the infants were satisfied. Adriel glanced over at her. Aren’t you going to bottle some of that to stockpile a reserve so that you can enjoy some cocktails at the party tomorrow night?

Joey smiled. Adriel, I have stockpiled enough of my milk to feed the girls for over a month. I have plenty. Are you thirsty? Adriel shuddered as he grimaced, which caused Joey to break into a laugh.

Oh, by the way, I asked Kristina to run an ad in the paper to hire two caretakers for the gardens. I’m offering the regular salary, and there is plenty of room at their villa for all five of them.

Joey chuckled. Well, I’m rather certain that they will all end up in the same bed together anyway.

Adriel smiled and nodded as he pulled a blue pin striped suit from the rack. He chose a white shirt and maroon tie, which would most likely clash with the boutonniere that he was to wear to identify himself to his liaison at the airport in Turkmenistan. As he laid the garments on the bed, he asked, Did you have Monique hire the caterers for the party tomorrow?

Yes, she always enjoys planning our parties. Our bar is fully stocked, and she wants to have a whole roasted boar to serve with the appetizers, rice, vegetables, fruits, sauces, and the most decadent desserts.

Adriel smoothed his garments as he smiled at Joey. Yes, well it will definitely be the naked, unabashed, indulgent celebration that she enjoys so much. Adriel chuckled. I think our least expense is laundry detergent since none of us hardly ever wears clothing around here.

Joey smiled. I think you’re right. It just makes life so much simpler, which raises a question in my mind. If this society seems so moral and sober, how is it that they entertain you as a contractor? Do they have any idea what your lifestyle is?

As a matter of fact, they do. I’m just a tool to be used by them. They care nothing of my lifestyle. However, they do insist that I harm no one in my endeavor to execute the contract.

Yes, that makes no sense to me, Adriel.

Of course it doesn’t, Dear, you were a global assassin. Your job was to terminate people. Adriel smiled at Joey. You’re the one they would never hire.

Suddenly, they heard a clap. The villa had no doors, as they lived in the tropics of Aitutaki, and rooms were constructed to offer privacy from the hallway. To announce one’s arrival, she would clap to gain attention. Joey
