About this ebook
This is a quick read that I hope lends some possible new perspective for everyone to act responsibly during these dangerous times.
Adriel Chevalier
Adriel Jacques Chevalier descended from a French family that migrated to the Netherlands before immigrating to the United States. His family's vocation centered around the jewelry and watchmaking business for generations. However, Adriel was never adept with handling the delicate parts of tiny machinery. Instead, he turned his interests to the software industry that was just becoming popular in his young, adult life. He found that logic and problem solving better suited his skills, and he excelled in his field.Adriel's elder sister had taught him to read and write at the age of three. Due to boredom suffered from structured learning, he sought to educate himself from his youth. In his adult life he spent decades studying ancient history and various writings, mostly centering around Christian and Judaic literature. Some of his studies he opted to conduct in the pre-translated, original language to gain a clearer understanding.Always frustrated with the structure and politics of organized religion, he sought relationships according to the instruction of the Messiah, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." Adriel recognized that the Messiah's name was synonymous with his authority, which is Truth, and that any group larger than three brought annoying problems.Adriel and his fellows departed from the mainstream teaching of the established religions and embarked on a journey that led them on a quest for intrinsic Truth. Through many enlightening revelations and miraculous experiences, Adriel came to recognize that much of what is taught today concerning the Creator and his anointed one is rubbish. He forsook the erroneous cliches, rhetoric and discrepancies of the religious culture and embraced Truth, which is available to any man anywhere at any time.Although it was contrary to Adriel's belief system to share his findings in a rhetorical document, in his latter years he decided to envelop them into works of fiction to be enjoyed by others. He has developed several stories with elements of actual experiences and enlightenment for others to enjoy and ponder.

To the Reader
This is a fictional story, and any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental. The Coronavirus pandemic has been very revealing concerning the character of individuals in various countries. It has also revealed how early action to prevent the virus virtually kept some areas COVID free and allowed the economy to continue uninterrupted.

CHAPTER ONE
State of Affairs
DR. HENNA GREENEWALL settled back into her chair in her office in the basement of her home. She had just finished a press conference with the United States government, and she was perplexed. The narcissistic bastard, who had ultimately put the country into this alarming danger, had been removed. However, it didn’t negate the severe situation that the country faced along with the rest of the world. Henna had been appointed as the spokesperson for the CCC, which had been organized due to the impending disaster of world events. The organization was established in the wake of atrocities that had transpired in the last six months due to the raging aspects of a pandemic that continually left the medical community with more questions than answers. Hospital ICU spaces were inadequate to care for the sick. Temporary units were filled as fast as they could be built, leaving many sick without the necessary care. Deaths had topped more than ninety thousand a day in the United States alone.
The COVID Control Center was a worldwide agency responsible for policing the operations in various countries. Henna had been involved in the task for establishing the new normal for the world at large. It was incredibly restrictive, but due to her extensive knowledge of the virus, she deemed the measures to be necessary to provide the world with a future in which it could remain safe and continue to survive.
The United States had proven that it was embarrassingly vulnerable to a pandemic. Some likened it to a war, but if that were true, many would have been guilty of treason for aiding and abetting the enemy. Many other countries had demonstrated far more responsibility with a restrictive quarantine that proved to be effective. As a result, the U. S. had been banned from traveling to countries that had a much higher standard of health awareness. However, it wasn’t just the U. S. that suffered from lack of control. If that had been the case, the CCC would never have been organized by the United Nations, which was precipitated by the agency. As nations began to reopen, they suffered a spike in new cases that emerged within two months of relaxing the quarantine.
Other health organizations had failed miserably to identify and understand the Coronavirus. The vaccine that was manufactured that so many had hoped would ultimately put an end to the pandemic only prevented one strain of the virus. Since then, it had been discovered that due to a lack of control that failed to force everyone into quarantine at the onset of the pandemic, instead allowed the virus to mutate many times as it jumped from one genetic code to another. It had fed off of society and animals for many months, and the various symptoms that seemed to migrate from the lungs, to the skin, to the nervous system, and eventually to organ failure was the result of different strains.
So far, sixteen different strains of the virus had been identified, and more were mutating every day. Manufacturing a vaccine was an impossible task to fight the pandemic. The only plausible answer was a forced, restrictive quarantine of every country in the
