Introduction

Add one more book on Divine-healing to the crowded market? Do not F. F. Bosworth’s, "Christ the Healer, T. L. Osborn’s, Healing the Sick, E. W. Kenyon’s, Jesus the Healer," and others which have been around a long time reveal all there is to know on the healing-subject? Those classic books were superb in their presentation of miracle-healing-truth, and champions of Divine-Healing ahead of their time in comparison to the modern-church. However, WHEREAS yesteryear’s-knowledge regarding healing-truth was adequate for yesterday’s-battles, it is obviously NOT sufficient to thwart the devil’s attacks on God’s people today. Although Bible-Truth itself is not in trouble, escalated-health-problems today DEMAND that believers POSSESS additional-truth ON Divine-Healing. EVIL-powers arrayed against the modern-church SEEM TO BE FAR BETTER EQUIPPED for damaging believers’ health than most believers are in securing their health. Unacceptable condition—must be remedied!

To grasp the Divine-requirements for living in Divine-Health, we need more than a minimum of healing-truth. We must obtain and disseminate more Bible-revelation about both the negative and positive sides of the issue. To adequately tackle today’s church-wide-health-crisis, and to reach GOD’S GOAL for believers, we will have to assimilate all Bible-Revelation on sickness-and-healing; and then with the Holy Spirit’s help put that information in biblical-perspective. After assimilating all Bible-Truth concerning our health, we can then victoriously respond to the challenge of satanic-physical-infirmity.

To eradicate illness in the modern-believer, I offer to the Body of Christ this hard-copy of the revelations God has given me concerning sickness-and-healing-realities. Divine-Healing is misunderstood by modern-Christians primarily because illness itself is perceived incorrectly! Endeavoring to persuade Christians to submit to God in all things, MANY preachers (themselves being oblivious to the underlying-cause of sickness and infirmity) have concocted many perverted-theological-beliefs pertaining to the believer’s proper-response to the evil of sickness. So, we MUST learn the biblical-perspective on sickness-and-disease before understanding God’s will in relation to Divine-Health—Both found only in Holy Scripture!

The scriptural-stance on Divine-Healing is even more revolutionary to traditional theology than those insights I have gained about the sickness-side. People who read this volume with an open heart and mind will EXIT the book with A RENEWED-MINDSET toward the heavenly-health-plan—viewing Holy Scripture afresh and anew!

To reverse unscriptural-concepts regarding sickness-and-healing in the believer’s life, we must FIRST KNOW Bible-Truth concerning the nature of sickness, its origin, and GOD’S EVALUATION of it—Which is why in the first two chapters we find out how God looks upon sickness; which has taken such a toll in so many believers’ lives. That Bible-Truth being right before our eyes all along, our dimmed-vision could not perceive that Bible-Truth. And that Bible-Revelation will be a springboard into the balance of the book. Lots of healthy-news ahead.

And, this book is not a rehash of the healing-works I listed up front. Thus, I recommend that you get each of those classics as well. The modern-church needs all the Healthy-Truth it can obtain!

Chapter One

The scriptural-view of sickness I

The primary-accepted-church-doctrine on sickness-and-healing is a hodgepodge of human - speculation and religious - tradition . The custodians of that doctrine pass it from generation to generation, century after century; never searching Scripture to determine if such belief is biblically - correct . Acts 17:11 calls noble the people who searched the Scriptures to find out if what Paul taught them was the truth. Modern - Christians ought to do the SAME . Close and honest - examination of the arguments those deceived - tradition - preachers use to SUPPOSEDLY establish the scriptural - validity of their doctrinal - stance on sickness - and - healing actually shatters their gutless - timeworn - arguments . Under a religious - guise of humbly submitting to God’s MYSTERIOUS - WILL for believers , by accepting sickness as a special work of grace , believers have unwittingly placed themselves under the power of the devil himself . By becoming convinced that sickness pleases God, people who believe that garbage venerate the devil’s works, and advance their enemy’s agenda. It is time for that nonsense to be exposed and eliminated .

The purpose of this author is not to embarrass those who hold such ungodly ideas; but it is inevitable that in the process of exposing the utter-unbiblicalness of those ludicrous-religious-traditions, many having that mental-bent will be biblically-challenged TO REEVALUATE their doctrinal-concepts on that issue. My primary purpose is to discover from Scripture the Divine-Truth concerning that sickness-and-healing-matter, because it is of vital importance to the survival and triumph of the church.

The religious error promoting the ungodly idea that believers ought to EMBRACE their illness is that illness supposedly has SOME mysterious-spiritual-value in the eyes of our Redeemer. By enduring physical pains and hardships, believers are supposedly being FAITHFUL to God—affording Him more GLORY by patient-endurance under their infirm-condition than by being miraculously-healed from it. Strangely, Jesus Christ WAS IGNORANT of that Calvinist theology! He healed everyone suffering from sickness and disease, who came to Him; teaching that THE DEVIL was the one who PUT those degrading-conditions on the victims. You need to read Luke 13:16 and Acts 10:38. Sickness in God’s church pleases and glorifies the …god of this world… (2 Corinthians 4:4), rather than The Author Of Bodily-Salvation. (Ephesians 5:23-30) Through that, and other foolish-doctrines, the devil has gained a foothold in the Body of Christ.

Disarming and dismantling such deceptive-demonic-arguments is in reality a very simple process. All that is required on the believer’s part is to put forth some effort to search and discover, and then to honestly accept and acknowledge, THE BIBLE-VIEW of illness and infirmity. And this book is actually doing that for believers today! Should not the Biblical-Evaluation of Sickness-Suffering be the Divine-Evaluation as well? Since God INSPIRED Scripture in the first place, dare we believe that He did not know what He MEANT by those words He inspired? If God’s Written Word SAYS sickness is a blessing, then we certainly ought to concur. But, if we discover by our research that the Bible verifies the opposite, should we continue teaching people that illness is a blessing? The biblical-answer to that question is the foundation upon which this book is built. (John Calvin said that not only ought we to accept sickness as God’s will for us, but to take medicine to rid ourselves of it. WHAT? Go figure!)

Through my own biblical-research I found multiple-English-terms that reveal God’s evaluation of sickness and disease—some in the Old Testament; others in the New. Each term portrays sickness as an EVIL-ENTITY—God’s response to each illness being always the same.

The first of the telling-terms occurs in Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 is a list of blessings God promised to shower upon Old-Covenant-saints, who FAITHFULLY observed all His commands—blessings covering EVERY aspect of human existence—and sickness appears not on the blessing-list! But verse fifteen onward promised that those under the covenant who refused to abide by ALL of its requirements would suffer many accompanying-CURSES. And, to make sure God’s people understood what the curses were, MOSES MADE A LENGTHY LIST OF THEM—fifty-four verses—and good-health appears not on that curse-list!

It is most-instructive that MOST of the listed-curses have to do with the human body in some manner. The curses resulting from disobedience take their toll upon OUTER-peace as much as on INNER-peace. Moses was specific; cataloguing many familiar-illnesses along with all other manifestations of the curses. Moreover, just in case one would SUPPOSE that even in disobedience he might escape those physical-calamities he feared most, Moses added to the CURSE-LIST verse sixty-one: "Also, every sickness, and every plague, which is NOT written in the book of this law." (Plus all that are written in it!)

That is our first example of the biblical-evaluation of every conceivable form of sickness and disease—which are all labeled CURSES! And that leaves no sickness or disease preachers can claim is a blessing-from-on-high! Which explains why the first fourteen verses of chapter twenty-eight contain NO mention of sickness. In light of Deuteronomy chapter twenty-eight, how have religious-tradition-patrons gotten away with promoting sickness as a BLESSING from our Loving-Heavenly-Father to His faithful-children? (In either the Old or New Testament?)

What makes it even worse is the definition of curse. The Hebrew word translated curse in verses fifteen and forty-five means to lower one to a lesser-state-of-being; and is said to be the very opposite of blessing. Look up CURSE in different Bible dictionaries. Another Hebrew word rendered CURSE in the English, in verses sixteen through nineteen, means to hem in with obstacles, or to render one powerless. Does our Redeemer want to hem in His own people with obstacles; or to render believers powerless; or to lower them to a lesser-state-of-health? All such tragedies are BRANDED CURSES, and are the heritage of the disobedient; NOT the obedient. AMEN!

How unreasonable that religious-tradition is exalted above the Word of God! Jesus Christ exposed the same EVIL-practices among religious-leaders during His time on earth. In Mark 7:13, Jesus condemned the religious-leaders for "Making the Word of God of NO effect by the traditions you have established: And MANY like-things you do." In verse six He called them hypocrites. Should not church leaders today who teach ungodly-doctrines be designated hypocrites? Has the Father, His Son, the Holy Spirit, or God’s redemption-plan reversed positions recently? Or, has today’s-church bought into the devil’s lies—teaching a different-Gospel—making it repulsive in the eyes of the unsaved through unbiblical-teachings on physical-suffering? Religious-lies CANNOT UNDO God’s Inspired Word: Lies destroy people who give allegiance to human-traditions rather than to God’s Inspired Word. No honest-person would dare dispute that MOSES’ evaluation of sickness is GOD’S evaluation of sickness! And Moses identified sickness as a CURSE. All through the Bible, there is not one passage portraying sickness as a blessing to humanity—and certainly not to God’s-faithful! Remember, the Bible is consistent from cover to cover in everything it teaches. Sickness and disease in Scripture are always portrayed as curses—which result from either disobedience to, or ignorance of, Scripture; or as an attack by Satan against God’s faithful-people.

Galatians 3:13 declares in no-uncertain-terms that: "Christ has [long ago] redeemed us [believers] from the CURSE of the law—Himself becoming a CURSE for us." The curse of the law included "every sickness and every plague." (Deuteronomy 28:61) So by redeeming us from the curse, Christ redeemed us from everything included under that curse—every sickness and disease, poverty and lack, etc., etc. (Deuteronomy 28:15-68)

Many believers today SUFFER sickness and disease because they CLING to religious-tradition rather than to God’s Immutable-Word. The primary cause of believers holding to those traditions is that most denominational-preachers continue to insist that God wants His people to suffer physically, in order to mature them spiritually. Yet, despite the prevailing-attitude among the tradition-preachers, they offer NO biblical-evidence for their rigid-religious-requirements. They either take some passages out of context, or FORCE their religious-views on certain passages, or appeal to supposed-failures of people who supposedly-believed the Healer was going to heal them; but who failed to obey God’s commands concerning the BIBLICAL-WAY TO RECEIVE HEALING IN THEIR BODY. God does not randomly DUMP Divine-health on people. The Divine-healing-system does have rules!

The second biblical-word, which reveals HOW GOD VIEWS SICKNESS is recorded in Job. Job 2:7: "So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore-boils from the sole of his foot to his crown [head]." It is interesting that the SAME wording is used in Deuteronomy 28:35, which is part of that curse list: "The LORD will smite you on your knees and legs with a sore-botch that cannot be healed—from the sole of your foot unto the crown of your head. Eerdman’s edition of Young’s Analytical Concordance To The Bible contains a section in the front of that volume called Hints And Helps To Bible Interpretation." You will find there that the original Hebrew often USED active-verbs to indicate permissive-actions. Deuteronomy tells us that sore-boils are judgement for DISOBEDIENCE—not obedience. But, Job not being a rebel, the sore-boils on HIS entire-body were the devil’s attack on his body for his obedience.

Although Job was righteous, he had placed himself in the clutches of the enemy by cultivating fear: "For the thing that I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I was afraid of has come unto me." (Job 3:25) Scripture reveals that fear activates Satan, just as faith activates God! FAITH is the substance God works with, whereas FEAR is the Adversary’s invitation to disaster. Matthew 14:28-31 says that PETER WALKED on the sea-surface by the supernatural-substance of faith—until observing wind and waves, he became afraid, and began to sink. Christ rebuked Peter for trading faith for fear—thereby losing his victory. Now, back to Job. To contend that it was God’s PURPOSE for Job to suffer from sore-boils is to stretch the imagination beyond the scriptural-scope. Satan was the perpetrator of Job’s affliction, though Job had opened the DOOR of opportunity for it. God actually protected Job from death at the devil’s hands! Perhaps you will perceive that truth, as you ponder Job 1:5 and 2:6. God LIMITED what Satan could do to Job!

Job 42:10. "The LORD turned the CAPTIVITY of Job when he prayed for his friends: And the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before." The word CAPTIVITY refers to all the SUFFERINGS Job sustained at Satan’s hands; including physical-abuse and loss of family and finances. The devil put all those calamities on Job; and Jehovah removed them. Religion commonly lays all the blame for Job’s many troubles on God, but nobody can honestly and biblically do so! Let us be honest about it.

The writer of Job used the Hebrew word CAPTIVITY to describe how God sees sickness, poverty, family loss, etc. The Hebrew-term is based on a more foundational-word which refers to taking prisoners in war. It literally means just what the English word indicates—captivity. Therefore, God looks upon sickness in the bodies of His people as their having-been-taken-captive by an ALIEN FORCE. What alien force? Our enemy, Satan! Sickness DOES SERVE some purpose of someone; but, it is NOT a mysterious-blessing-sent-from-on-high. Rather, it is the devil’s plan to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)

Yet, God has the wisdom and ability to make use of whatever conditions He may find in our lives to achieve His eternal-purpose for our lives. Upon His discovering motives within us that need some adjustment, He does most certainly work toward perfecting us—Job being a prime-example. But God did not set up those trials; Job did that. Neither did God sic Satan on His servant. The wording of Job 1:8 and 2:3 pictures God chiding Satan for setting his sights on Job. Satan was looking for one he could take down (1 Peter 5:8-9), and Job was a man he had not been able to fell, because God had a hedge around Job to protect him from the devil. But Job broke down the hedge by his fear; and God even had to point that out to the devil before he could see it. The devil is just not as smart as he wants us to think he is.

Moreover, God did not LEAVE Job in some suffering-condition the rest of his life. People who cite Job’s trials as an example of God wanting His own people to suffer FAIL to mention the fact that Job’s sufferings lasted for only a few months. (Job 7:3) Tradition-preachers try to persuade Christians who suffer chronic-illnesses to be reconciled to their SUPPOSED-God-ordained-fate, based on such biblical-examples as Job, Paul, and others—as though God wants them to suffer sickness all their lives. My intent is not to embarrass anyone over doctrine, but to SEPARATE bad-doctrine from good-people; then help those good-people enter their good-inheritance in Christ.

Job was advanced in age when all those trials came upon him. For some time he had worried about his ten GROWN-children. (Job 1:4-5) BEFORE those trials, Job had enjoyed blessing upon blessing. (Job 1:9-10) Plus: "After that Job lived another hundred-forty-years [being thoroughly BLESSED], and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons—four generations. Then, Job died, being OLD and full of days." (Job 42:16-17) The Old-Covenant-phrase, being-old-and-full-of-days meant that Job lived a LONG and satisfying life. GOD HEALED JOB of his sore-boils, doubled his previous-possessions, and granted him ten more children. Modern-misled-mentors try to persuade believers to embrace their sickness and financial-woes; if they are not soon delivered by medicine or prayer.

The New Testament provides more terms describing God’s evaluation of illness. Beginning with Luke 13:11: "There was a Jewish-woman who had been bound by a SPIRIT-of-infirmity for eighteen-years, and was BOWED together, and could not straighten herself." Christ found the woman in a Jewish-synagogue where she had been attending in that physical-condition all that time. And, of course, Christ healed the sick-woman—which action provoked the synagogue-leader to express indignation; simply because Christ had healed her on the Sabbath. Tradition was more sacred to that religious-leader than the welfare of those under his care. In verse fifteen, the Lord called the synagogue-leader a hypocrite—because he did not mind on the Sabbath watering his animal, in preference to restoring Divine-Health to God’s covenant-people. Do not think such religious-thinking is different today. Two-thousand-years have not changed the devil, the world, or religion! Religious-folks today operate with the same IRRATIONAL-MINDSET as religious-folks have over the past-two-millennia. It is OUTRIGHT-UNBELIEF!

In Luke 13:16, our Lord responded: "Ought not this woman, she being a daughter of Abraham [a covenant-woman], whom SATAN HAS BOUND for eighteen-years, be LOOSED [freed] FROM THIS BOND on the Sabbath?" This verse is just packed with Healing-Truth. First, the Savior pointed out that THAT woman was a daughter of Abraham—She was a covenant-woman, who possessed covenant-rights! What rights? To be afflicted with some crippling-disease for eighteen-years—or eighteen-days? Abraham’s OFFSPRING were due a much better lifestyle than ill-health. But, even back in those days, religious-tradition tended to keep God’s covenant-people sick!

Jesus said the woman ought to be healed no matter what day she was healed on. The Greek word rendered OUGHT signifies: To be necessary by the very nature of things. By the NATURE of what things was her recovery a necessity? Her covenant-rights! The word also means an unavoidable, and urgent, and compulsory necessity! Matthew 15:26: Jesus told a non-Jewish-woman that it was not right to give CHILDREN’S-BREAD to non-Jews. That woman’s request being deliverance for her demon-possessed-daughter shows that CHILDREN’S-BREAD is health for the entire-person—made up of spirit, soul and body—which Jesus said did not belong to that Gentile-woman—because she was not under that covenant. The woman persevered in her petition to the Lord, however, and gained her desperate-desire for her daughter. Now, if she, one outside the covenant, could gain healing for her daughter, how much more OUGHT covenant-people to enjoy Supernatural-Health? The Lord said the nature of the Covenant under which that Jewish-woman lived NECESSITATED THAT SHE BE HEALED—and
