About this ebook

The plague of one-dimensional thinking is responsible for more unnecessary divisions, more useless doctrinal arguments, and more dangerous discrediting of inspired scriptures among God's people than any other factor. The cure is to start thinking two-dimensionally. In this treatise, Paul Kasch challenges believers to consider matters from God's perspective – and by so doing, attempt to unite us under the core values of our faith, better equipping us for our service and daily struggles while sojourning in this hostile environment. We have enough tribulation without fighting each other.

Because linearly-arranged time here in the physical dimension has proven to be an unstable element affected by matter and gravity, we cannot assume time works the same way, or is even a component of, the spiritual dimension. Grasping this concept will help us reconcile conflicts such as free will & predestination. It then becomes a fun endeavor to explore the ways the spiritual dimension crosses over and interacts with the physical, and how we will eventually become beings with multi-dimensional capabilities.

Paul Kasch's latest work will fan the flames of grace in your heart while refusing to compromise scriptural truth. You'll come away from this book with a broader perspective on eternity and a desire to bolster your own spiritual development.

    About the Author

    Introduction

The existence of a spiritual realm, beyond the physical world we see and feel around us, is testified of throughout scripture in many ways both subtle and clear. By and large Christians tend to place a great deal of hope in the experiences which await us there, despite having precious little conceptual reference to base our hope upon. We simply believe God, and trust in His word.

Meanwhile, we argue doctrine with each other to the point of bitterness.

Most Christians agree that doctrinal differences have no effect on the saving power of the Gospel. Arminians won’t be surprised to see Calvinists in heaven, and vice-versa. Naturally, we all expect those we disagree with to confess they were wrong and we were right on that glorious day.

Have you ever wondered how it is we can read the same Bible and come to such extremely opposing viewpoints on subjects such as eternal security, free will, and uninterrupted eternal consciousness? Perhaps what divides us is not so much a misinterpretation of scripture as a limitation in viewpoint. In other words, perhaps the Christian who insists he cannot lose his salvation is equally correct as the Christian who takes heed to abide in Christ lest he fall.

Universalism as a theology, however, can never be valid. Directly conflicting statements cannot both be true as a matter of basic logic. God has created a governing structure to our physical existence which precludes such foolish concepts from serious consideration.

How, then, can seemingly opposing Christian doctrines both be proven correct? If we were chosen for salvation before the foundations of the world, how is it we only become saved when we call on the name of the Lord for forgiveness and place faith in the risen Christ?

Allow me to propose that full reconciliation might be achieved through two-dimensional thinking.

While the governing structure of our physical existence is usually somewhat rigid, no such limitations are implied upon the spiritual realm we are destined to ascend to. If environmental laws are in place there, we have no idea what they are or to what extent they are in effect. In addition, observable portals exist through which the two dimensions cross over into each other. Many trans-dimensional experiences are reported in scripture. In such incidents, the governing laws of our physical dimension are suspended.

The most obvious example of dimensional crossover occurs through prayer. God has graciously opened this portal because of our innate need for it, and left the evidence of its power undeniable before us. One who doesn’t believe in miracles needs only to join the prayer ministry of a Bible-teaching church to see their disbelief obliterated. Miracles which deserve front page headlines occur on a daily basis right here in this physical world as a direct result of prayer. Doctors see hopeless cases of cancer and other terminal diseases unexplainably vanish much more often than the public suspects, and have invented terms such as rare spontaneous remission to classify them under. The classification does nothing to scientifically explain these cases.

That’s because science itself is, in reality, not much more than a rudimentary observation of one’s immediate environment. As we will discuss in the following pages, the perceived limitations of our physical realm have a nasty habit of polluting our thought process. What we label as science refuses to allow for the existence of miracles. Heck, the very definition of miracle is something categorically denied by science. Yet miracles are scientifically observable. Science must turn a blind eye to certain phenomenon it encounters in order to maintain its self-defined identity. This is not only tragic, but such a contradiction of science’s very mission statement one must suspect outside tampering.

I know pastors who use the term supernatural to refer to some of God’s miracles. For example, they might state that God supernaturally sustained Moses on Mount Sinai for 40 days with no food or water. I’m not a fan of the term. Nothing is supernatural for God. I find its use to be
