About this ebook

Saber selected the poems he wrote and placed them in three categories life, love, and abstract. While working in an undercover capacity, Saber realized how fragile life is. It is a precious, delicate gift that should be handled with care and maintained properly. What is the proper maintenance of life? Everyone must decide how to live their lives best, but we must be cautious because there is one element of life just waiting for the opportunity to conquer it: the everlasting adversary, death. The poems in this section are inspired by Saber's encounters with danger. Saber's passion for existentialism influences the abstract section of this book. We may not always find the solution to problems, questions, or wonders in a physical and logical world. The abstract may offer answers we never thought possible. Finally, this book contains what may be the essential element of life-- love. The love section is inspired by Saber's journey through life, having experienced the joy and pain of this powerful emotion.

Luc Saber

Luc Saber is a writer, producer, and director. His work in feature films has received many accolades to include the "Best Original Screenplay" and "Best Picture" awards from the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival for writing and producing the feature film "Placebo Effect." He also received the "Award of Merit" from the Accolade Competition for "Edge Of Salvation," a feature film he wrote, directed and produced. Saber, whose poetry is peppered with symbolism and imagery plucked out of the dark side of life while exploring the unexplained, the mystery of love, and spiritual dimensions, was influenced by the Latin, Slavic, and German cultures. He was born in a village heavily populated by people of German heritage. He grew up in a Latin culture behind the iron curtain, where authorities frowned upon religion, while witchcraft, sorcery, and black magic were commonplace. Saber spent part of his childhood in a refugee camp, and after moving to the United States, he joined the US military out of a sense of duty to give back to a nation that welcomed him and his family.

    SECTION 1 - LIFE

LIFE is a precious, delicate gift that should be handled with care and maintained properly. What is the proper maintenance of life? White Horses

I took a walk along the shore

And watched the sun glide on the sea.

The sand beneath glass crystals bore

White horses walked along with me.

In the distance, an image formed.

And clearer it became as we

Got closer to its soothing shape

White horses walked along with me.

I found out at that moment,

    What I thought to be

    An everlasting eternity.

Not very far, but rather close

Where the sun meets with the sea

White horses walked along with me.

    Ashes to Dust

    In this world of gray,

Bright lights glimmer into the night

To hide the truth so far forgotten

As the night turns into day

And all our sins seem washed away

    From the night past

Our troubles— again forgotten as we lay.

The moon peeks through moving clouds,

And the blood still boils hot

While the trail leads bloodthirsty hounds

    To our loving resting spot.

    The energy is now exhausted.

From the night which passed so quick

Through the thick and heavy bushes

    Through the balconies, so slick

The movement was indeed so rapid

And the shadows raced so quick.

The blood cools down after a while,

    And the body’s freezing cold

While the face has a big smile

And the arms open as though to hold.

    The sun is setting down

As darkness falls upon the land.
