Even though scientists recognize them as the Mesopotamian gods known as the Anunnaki, some fringe beliefs suggest that the Anunnaki were once-ancient alien invaders from the planet Nibiru. The Sumerians loved the Anunnaki before the Greeks praised Zeus or the Egyptians adored Osiris. These Mesopotamian gods had wings, wore horned crowns, and could rule over the whole human race. The Sumerians saw the Anunnaki as heavenly beings who oversaw the evolution of their civilization. A sculpture of the Anunnaki, ancient Sumerian gods some think are extraterrestrials, may be seen on Wikimedia Commons. According to specific religions, the Anunnaki were supposed to be extraterrestrials from another planet. Even more remarkable is that they support this ludicrous assertion with ancient Sumerian texts. They were gods, but did they go any further? We do know one thing.

From roughly 4500 to 1750 B.C., the Sumerians lived in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq and Iran) between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. Despite being a long-gone civilization, they accomplished remarkable technical advances while in power. For example, the Sumerians invented lots of technology, which was critical to expanding their kingdom. They also created Cuneiform, one of human history's first known writing systems. They also developed a timekeeping system that is still in use today. However, the Sumerians believed that the Anunnaki, a group of gods, was also responsible for these vital discoveries.

While little is known about the Anunnaki and their way of life, The notorious Epic of Gilgamesh, one of the oldest written narratives in human history, sheds light on their beliefs. They said that the Anunnaki were descended principally from Anu, a mighty deity with the power to decide both the fate of human kings and the fate of his fellow gods. The Anunnaki gods were also adored. The Sumerians worshipped these gods, creating statues of them, dressing and feeding them, and bringing them to rites. Many researchers would conjecture what made these Anunnaki unique thousands of years later and why they were revered. However, it wasn't until the twentieth century that the ancient alien concept gained traction.

According to some scholars, a Sumerian cylinder seal is proof that ancient aliens previously visited Earth. The Sumerian civilization left many clay tablets with much information about their culture. The study of these pills is currently underway. According to one author, some publications disclosed shocking information that the Anunnaki were extraterrestrials.

Ryan Moorhen has provided translations of 14 tablets regarding Enki, a branch of the Sumerian supreme deity Anu. He argues that the Sumerians thought the Anunnaki arrived from the distant planet Nibiru. Nibiru, according to Moorhen, definitely has a 3,600-year-long extended orbit. This planet used to be close to the Earth. The Anunnaki, who resided there then, elected to establish contact with Earth some 500,000 years ago. The Anunnaki, on the other hand, want more than simple dialogue. They wanted gold since it was critical to re-establishing the planet's atmosphere. Because they couldn't do it themselves, the Anunnaki genetically modified primitive humans to collect gold for them.

By the time the Sumerians achieved recognition as a civilization, the Anunnaki had also given humans the talents necessary for the future evolution of life as we know it, such as the ability to write, solve mathematical problems, and design cities. This assertion is entirely improbable. However, Moorhen once said that doubters were under no obligation to trust him. Moorhen, who spent decades studying Sumerian, Akkadian, and ancient Hebrew, has had the privilege of private access to the Rothschilds Moorhen collection. [The aliens] attempted to transform him into a primitive worker by giving Homo erectus the DNA that would enable him to think and use tools.

When he initially came to think that the ancient Sumerian texts were more than just myths, Sitchin formed a historian triumvirate with Swiss author Erich von Daniken and Russian author Immanuel Velikovsky. They perceived the works as more akin to scientific magazines of the time. They claimed that humanity was created to serve alien overlords whose civilization was based on Earth's riches. Furthermore, if these hypotheses were suitable in every way, it would imply that the Anunnaki were real extraterrestrials who came to Earth to create life rather than gods constructed by humans to explain it. And, despite how horrifying it may look, many individuals are eager to consider it, if only for laughs.

Most conventional historians and academics usually claim that these views have been misunderstood or misconstrued from ancient Sumerian texts. Some skeptics accept that some of the concepts discovered in ancient Sumerian literature are unusual, but they believe this is due mainly to the Sumerians' lack of a complete understanding of things like ancient floods, astronomy, animals, and other parts of life. Translators like Sitchin and Moorhen were confident in their translations because they accepted the Sumerian texts literally and were fearless of criticism. Although the Sumerian civilization died out thousands of years ago, they are said to have laid the foundation for contemporary humanity. However, there is little question that Sumerian civilization was advanced at the time. According to a clay tablet translated in 2015, ancient astronomers employed sophisticated mathematics to calculate Jupiter's orbit 1,400 years before Europeans arrived. Furthermore, trigonometry may have been devised by the Babylonians, who succeeded the Sumerians and lived 1,000 years before the ancient Greeks. But did a species from another planet assist them? Could advanced math and science have been taught to Sumerians by extraterrestrial visitors? Yes, according to proponents of the theory of ancient aliens. They would refer to Sitchin's translations, the Sumerians' superior technology, and the apparent presence of flying machines in various ancient Sumerian types of writing (although this could be a mistranslation).

Currently, there is solid evidence to back Moorhen’s statements. However, no one knows if any of his theories were proven. The Sumerians are still a mystery to researchers. Many of their ancient texts are still being translated, while others must be unearthed from the ground. The most challenging hurdle to
