CHAPTER ONE

Shane Heath stepped out of the limousine, smiling at the chauffeur who held his door open. He turned around to glance at Miranda his wife, totally understanding the stunned look on her face. He was almost sure he had the same expression on his face, or at least something similar to it. When Brian Weaver, his old college buddy, had suddenly called him out of the blue and asked if he would love to come and spend an all-expense paid week with him on a Greek island with an obscure name he had never ever heard before, Shane had been all too happy to jump at it. First of all, because it had been so long since he and Miranda had gotten the chance to have a real vacation to themselves and with the tensions in his marriage it was something they desperately needed. Especially now that Sean their son was going to college. But the real and most important reason for this trip was that Brian now seemed to be the one who could save him from a dilemma he suddenly found himself

in.

You didn’t tell me your friend was this rich, Miranda whispered as she tugged on Shane’s hand. Shane, we’re on a private island for christsakes.

Shane forced a smile on his face as he turned around to look at her. Now you know I also have rich and powerful friends.

SHE ROLLED HER EYES as she turned around to look at the island again and Shane stared at his wife of twenty years. The slim waist and tight ass had given way to thick thighs and some fat around her belly. Not that he was still as lean and fit as he used to be when they first got married, but he was a man. He was allowed to go just a little soft as long as he never lost his drive and desire. Shane hadn’t lost any of that. He just hadn’t felt any of it for Miranda in a long time. The few times when he found himself reaching for her, it was a quick affair that he tried to get over as quick as possible and Miranda was starting to protest his lack of affection towards her. Maybe on this trip, away from the sexy bodies of the young women he still had a liking for, he would finally be able to put some enthusiasm on his matrimonial bed.

Miranda looked a bit self-conscious as she leaned in towards Shane. I think I should maybe freshen up my makeup or something before I see your friend.

Miranda’s face crumbled and Shane was scared she was going to make a scene.

Look, I’m really sorry for jumping at you like that. The flight, work. I’m just really stressed out. He turned to the staff who stood just a few feet away, looking as if he was deaf and blind. Is there anywhere my wife can freshen up before she goes in?

Sure, the staff replied. Follow me.

A few minutes later, Shane and Miranda were led into what the staff called the study of the mansion. It was bigger than the whole of Shane’s apartment and currently contained four people.
