A hardware store of all places! It was probably inevitable that Charley would bump into her old lover. London was a big city but neither of them had moved very far. But it was a shock all the same. She was a very different person to last time - marriage and kids tends to change a woman. Not to Lucian though. Once the shock of being reunited had passed, she found she was responding to him in exactly the same way as she had before. That was dangerous as he was an expert manipulator of women. Dave Clark was getting anxious. He expected his wife to be home before him and he’d been back, with the kids for over an hour. He hated chasing her but he was worried. Picking up the phone, he thumbed the fast dial for her mobile.
Charley wasn’t in a position to answer and it was Lucian who picked up the pink iPhone to silence the ringtone. “Is this the hubby?” He held the screen in front of the suspended woman.
Charley was quite a picture. Naked and stretched as taut as a bowstring, she was hanging by her wrists from the ceiling in Lucian’s spare room. “He’ll be worried,” he chuckled as he dialled the number. “You should call him back.”
“Hello! Charlotte?” The tinny voice was of course Dave and Lucian had to stifle a laugh at the use of her full name by the man who thought he knew her better than any other.
“Hello darling,” Charley squeaked, trying her best to sound natural after several hours with her mouth jammed full of latex. “I’m sorry I missed your call. I was in the loo!” That last word coincided with a preposterously loud zipping sound as Lucian opened his fly and she gulped in full knowledge of what was about to happen.
