(Look also for the other books in the series)
You will see this is not just another Greece travel guide.
In this book, you will discover, through a travel story and a large number of photos and maps, with concise historical and architectural explanations, the known and unknown treasures of one of the most extraordinary parts of Greece.
Meteora, a combination of natural wonders and rich cultural heritage, is the second most important monastic community in Greece after Mount Athos, in a unique natural environment.
However, most visitors focus on the site’s immense religious and cultural importance and only a small part of them fully discover its equally remarkable natural beauty. Close to Meteora is the Theopetra cave, one of the most important Prehistoric findings in Greece, and Trikala, Thessaly’s most beautiful historical centre.
This book presents to you all this uniqueness.
Among other things, you will discover
-fairy-tale landscapes
-a historical centre containing some of the best samples of Greek traditional architecture
-some of the most important Byzantine and post-Byzantine monasteries
Although these treasures are presented to you through a hiking tour, even if you don't hike you can see them since you can also reach them by car or a short walk.
