    I sat in the cafe by the main gate, waiting for my coffee. The cold December air blew hard as my knees shuddered together, my hands grabbed the thin leaflet tighter and I buried my exposed neck further into the collar of my jacket. The waiter brought the coffee and the extra sachet of sugar along with it. I thanked him and put the leaflet down on the table. I drank the hot coffee, relishing its warmth while I tried to resist the thought of cold bed that awaited me in my dorm.

    Two years had passed by and the constant questions about my life were slowly but surely getting on my nerves. 'It is quite embarrassing, James,' my mum would say when I would tell her once more that I didn't have a girlfriend. 'Two years ought to have done it, don't you think?' my dad would quietly mention while in the midst of the football match. Two years was not a long time. I could still have a better social life. Coleen and her friend Misha had mentioned that I looked alright. Hmm. Looked alright? What did that even mean? Why can't these girls be straight up about it?
