    Coat of Arms Description.

Gierałt , also Osmorog . In a red field a silver, bent cross, of which four beams are split down the middle (a so-called anchored cross), in each split at the end an apple of an orange; Helmet decoration: a black grouse soaring. This coat of arms is said to have been at the time of Duke Mieczyslaw, 963 992, a knight Gierałt ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg , Rogów ), who resisted the introduced Christianity for a long time, but then had himself baptized in Rome, be bestowed by the Pope. Previously carried by Birkhahn, Gierałt ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg , Rogów ), it was retained as a helmet ornament. When Gierałt ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg , Rogów ) returned to Poland, his coat of arms was named after the coat of arms Osmorog ( Octagonal ), also probably Osmina , but then more correctly after his name Gierałt ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg , Rogów ). The homeland of the Gierałt family ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg , Rogów ), which was also called Gerald and even Gerlach, was in Kraków province . The coat of arms are carried by: Dymienski , Fasciszewski , Gierałt ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg , Rogów ), Gierałt ( Cicierza , Gerald, Gieralt , Hosmorog , Osmarog , Osmarany , Osmioróg , Osmoróg ) , Rogów ) , Gierczynski , Gierzynski , Ginejt , Gniewek , Koczonowski , Magnus, Mozgawski , Rzeszynski , Siemichowski , Skretowski , Slonecki , Surgut, Sokot , Surzycki , Towianski , Wezycki , Wolski, Wrobilski , Wyzycki , Zemleszczery .
