Coins Help View Of History

Recent finds of an ancient gold coin, three medieval gold coins, and three medieval silver coins are assisting archaeologists to piece the history of the Rusokastro (or Red) Fortress in Bulgaria back together.

The municipality of Kameno and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria finances the excavations at Rusokastro. The Regional Historical Museum Bourgas manages the dig.
