    Prologue

Natalie, Rochella, Rodolfo are three siblings who are in search of happiness. All three of them being quite the opposites, encounter love differently. With Natalie, the boisterous, Rodolfo, the laid back man as well as relaxed and Rochella, the insecure one who struggles.

They belong to a wealthy family and thus attracted a lot of lovers. But they all have different perspectives and opinions for the person they would call their Partner for life.

This book will narrate their story and the experiences they have had while their journey of finding the Perfect mate.

    Chapter 1

During one Christmas break, Jerome took his family to Il Lago, a restaurant in downtown Geneva to celebrate his daughter Natalie’s sixteenth birthday.

Il Lago was a 4.5-star Italian restaurant. It was his favorite place to dine for birthdays, and with his children, there was no exception.

Natalie donned a purple gown for the occasion, complementing her lush brown hair, while Rochella, who was also a brunette, wore a pink one. Rochella was 14. Both of these daughters were spoiled and pampered, but Natalie was slightly a boisterous character to the annoyance of Rochella, who suffered from her hearing loss.

Rochella grew up very quiet and sweet and would love to read novels all the time. Meanwhile, Natalie was the opposite and loved to party day and night.

Natalie took no liking to school, claiming she was a princess at the age of ten. Rochella, the opposite one, liked to study. But their grandmother had advised them, to Jerome’s dismay, not to marry too old.

Francine wore a white lace dress, and Jerome was wearing a black suit as well as Rodolfo.

Jerome’s daughters liked to compete for attention. At a very young age, they were already looking for husbands.

I’m going to find myself a husband, said Natalie, who was older and often called upon by beaus.

Yeah, said Rodolfo. Like you always do.

Stop bantering. Said, Jerome. You’re too young. Natalie liked to brag to Rochella’s annoyance.

Of course. Said Rodolfo. And you will get married next year. He laughed at her mockingly because of her age and her attitude.

Rodolfo laughed at his two younger sisters. At 18, he had his share of girlfriends and didn’t care if he married or not with their wealth. He was also a brunette like his mother and had brown eyes. He was a carefree young man studying business in college and loved to travel with his father.

The waiter came, and they ordered their champagne and water drinks because Rochella and her siblings were all under ages. Jerome ordered appetizers followed by a meal which they would all share served in platters.

The waiter brought the drinks, and Jerome made a toast.

    To my wonderful daughter.

    Happy birthday Natalie.

Everyone said, Happy Birthday. Meanwhile, a man was looking at Natalie from across the room.

    Then the food was served.

While they ate, Natalie giggled as a young man flirted with her from across the room. It caused Rochella to sulk more and complain to her mother. Why can’t I find someone? she lamented.

You are still young, Rochella. It will happen with time!

Rochella just looked at her food. The room had a violinist who played soft Italian music, and there was a small section where people danced. Amore Mio was the song that was being serenaded. Francine listened in awe to the violinist, not exactly to the words but to the sounds of the violin. It was a mere delight.

Then the young man who had been flirting with Natalie approached the table and introduced himself as Fred. He was tall and had blonde hair, brown eyes, and had a slender figure. He was a conservative man who radiated elegance and was the son of a successful construction worker. Hearing that Fred was Swedish, Jerome smiled to himself; his daughter had found someone of his own heritage.

Rodolfo looked in disbelief that his sister was actually hitting this off as she always did. He knew how spoiled she was and all the attention she got from young men. Yet Rochella was the quiet one with her problem.

She is like that. Said Rodolfo to Rochella. Spoiled rotten.

    Don’t worry.

    You’ll find someone too.

You are just young right now. Rochella just smiled at her brother for the kind words. But her insecurity was worse than ever since she was tired of hearing things about herself. In school, she dealt with some bullies, which hurt Rochella’s feelings a lot.

Their schools were very strict, taught, and ran by nuns, and they were taught not to use foul and bad language. Despite the strict school, there were many bullies, and they learned some language that Francine forbids her children to use in public. Natalie provoked jealousy.

May I have the pleasure of this dance? he said to Natalie.

As his daughter got up and introduced herself, Jerome laughed. Just like her mom. Natalie will always have beaus.

Rodolfo laughed as Fred led Natalie to the middle of the room. The music being played in the restaurant was a beautiful serenade. He just continued to indulge in his favorite pastries after eating dinner. The lights dimmed as the music began.

He looked at Rochella, who looked miserable.

    Spoiled. He said.

    I hate her. Said Rochella.

Watch your mouth. Said Jerome and Francine.

That’s not the way to talk in public.

Rochella just looked at her food, annoyed.

Natalie danced gracefully across the floor. Fred talked about himself and his family. While Natalie just listened while
