    Dedication

This book is dedicated to one and only God who has replaced my human insecurity with His security and continues to reaffirm His words through me.

This book is further dedicated to my family and all the good friends and colleagues who stood with us through thick and thin. Your prayers are answered.

This book is further dedicated to the entrepreneurs and small businesses that are facing the challenges of recognition and opportunities to compete. To you do not quit you will soon see the light at the end of the tunnel – It is well.

Always Remember He is God from beginning to the end and there is no place for regrets or anxieties.

Book is more about issues and things that truly happened or recollection of the author’s entrepreneurial life’s journey.

    Dear Victor,

I have just finished reading the First Book – ‘Human Insecurity to God’s Security’ and all I can say is there you go again – leaving another indelible mark in the annals of time! Having been a witness to several of the events and experiences you share in the book, for me, your courage, quest for the truth and fearless struggle to do the right thing comes shining through. You may not have won all the battles (and you have the scars to prove it), you certainly fought valiantly based on your unique and unshakable faith that your cause is just. I salute you my friend on your accomplishments, your abiding faith in the goodness of the Lord and your continuous drive to be the best that you can be, and to make the world a better and fairer place.

My love and regards to your wonderful wife who undoubtedly has been a supportive associate in the uncommon road you’ve travelled.

God bless you and keep you waxing stronger by the day. May the future be ever brighter for you and yours?

    Warmest regards,

    A personal friend

I have known Victor Ogunniyi for some time now. Our first meeting was at Odibo Street in Warri as neighbors. Victor is a very pleasant person that will always want to engage in one activity or the other. He is what other people will call hyperactive. This condition makes him restless pursuing various activities at the same time. This multi-tasking explains why his physical appearance remained unchanged even after his wedding to Ola. What really struck me about Victor is his penchant for righteousness, justice and fairplay. Victor hates anybody to be cheated. For Victor it does not matter whether the person is known or not, religion, creed or ethnicity will not deter Victor from fighting injustice. With parenthood when most people will slow down activities, Victor remained undaunted. The arrival of the Ds (Dayo, Doyin, Dolapo and Deolu) did not change the hyper-status of Papa Ds. Then the challenges came calling; I remember the Osubi Airport project vividly amongst many others, then there was the overseas cross-posting assignment and the like. In all the challenges, Victor remained steadfast and prayerful. Some people would have given up on faith and religion but not Victor. His believe in what God will do kept him going. Victor organizational skills helped in carrying out various activities: Lions Club, Staff Club, Sports Club, Youth/Students/Language Clubs just to mention a few. The mentoring of the younger ones that was carried out then has produced some highly placed individuals in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria today. Victor is a family man and all his actions are based on what is good for the family and his relocation to America is a case in point. I am highly honored to have come across such a wonderful, upright, courageous, dedicated, resourceful, energetic, God fearing and friendly person. This is a must-read book that will help many hurting individuals that with courage we can move mountains.

A business colleague and a friend

For all of you readers who have purchased Victor Ogunniyi’s recently published book, I offer my personal comments as a past employee, consultant, and more importantly, as a good friend on the quality traits Victor exhibits every day in his life’s journey.  Victor is a man of God, first and foremost.  He’s very much dedicated to his family, friends, his community at large, and his fellow parishioners in his Church.  He maintains Honesty, Integrity, and Competency in both his personal and business endeavors.  Therefore, as you read his book you will start to see these traits come to the forefront in his words, his deeds, his accomplishments and failures, and his relationships, as described by him in his book. I believe that all who read his book will come away enlightened and refreshed that people like Victor do exists, and that only good things can come to people who exhibit these human qualities in their everyday lives.  Please, enjoy the read!

    Introduction

"So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it still; will lead me on

    O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till; the night is gone;

And with the morn those angel faces smile

Which I have loved long since, and lost a while"

    Baptist Hymnal

It has often been said that as long as we are in this world, then we are either coming out of a challenging situation or we are presently in one or we are just getting into one It could also be a combination of all. There is no dull moment in life and what I cannot understand is why any human being would like to go through the ordeal and trauma of life without having a solid foundation and an anchor that is steady like our God. In my first book, I talked about my fear of writing a book; now I have begun a second book – whaoo – it is very interesting. With little efforts, the thoughts started flowing and there was no shortfall of ideas. Besides, time became available to do the writing; I believe it is all about God’s timing!

Coming to America was like the story of the Israelites getting into their promised land (a land flowing with milk and honey). In my first book, I had claimed the American land as the place where I was going to lay my Bethel similar to what Jacob did and experienced in Gen 28: 12-22; so, I began to change my mindset knowing that the course of my sailing had changed. I began to read and know more about the new destination, the culture, the likes and dislikes and how to act or behave to avoid problems in the land. Who would refuse to live in a land flowing with milk and honey and the nation that is the greatest in the world; the nation that prides itself as the beacon of light, liberty and justice? It was all exciting looking forward to a country where our problems would end and our lives would go uninterrupted from worries, material things (I thought, anyone could easily pick up money on the streets); little did I realize that I was getting myself ready for new ground of battles totally different from the ones I had fought.

    VII

This book is confirming my unequivocal conviction that our God is good and He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory, we should not fret, we have nothing to fear and we can sing through tribulations because we are secured in God. In the first book, I focused on the journey of faith through adolescent and working as an employee or managing my corporate career. This book is focused on the journey of faith through doing business in America; I looked at this through the prism of an entrepreneur or a small business owner in the land. It is an understatement to state that life is not a bed of roses; I know that God is fully at work in our lives even when we fail to recognize or accept it. Throughout my challenges, I have come to realize that our problems can either defeat or develop us and that basically depends on our response to our circumstances.

Thus, I have come to the conclusion that our God uses our circumstances in five ways to fellowship and have relationship with us. Those five ways are to perfect us: John 15: 4—5; Remain in me, and I will………..he will bear much fruit ; apart from Me; you can do nothing; to direct our path and keep us focused: Psalm 25: 4-6: Show me Your ways, O Lord, teach me Your paths, guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my savior, and my hope is in You all day long;" to examine us and see that our motives are pure and noble: Psalm139; O
