Rev. Dr. Benjamin Dadebo

Rev Dr Benjamin Dadebo is a Lay Minister in charge of Mustard Seed Chapel International, Belfast. He owes a lot of gratitude to the opportunity provided by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, founder of the United Denominations originating from the Lighthouse Group of churches. By inspiration from Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Rev Dr Benjamin Dadebo responded to the call of God upon his life. Though a trained medical practitioner, Dr Ben's passion is to fulfil his purpose in life, and hence to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and has planted a church in Rochdale (England). Again, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, he moved to Northern Ireland and planted another church in Belfast and then recently started a new church in Portadown.Currently Dr Benjamin Dadebo works as a Locum Specialist Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Ulster Hospital, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, Belfast. Dr Ben also holds a Masters degree in Sports Medicine (Nottingham University), and also a PhD in Exercise Physiology (Manchester Metropolitan University) in a field that combines Gynaecology and Exercise Physiology (Vascular Aspects of Oestrogen: The Interaction of oestrogen status and exercise haemodynamics). Dr Ben has by the grace and mercies of God acquired an in-depth knowledge about oestrogen, its ubiquitous nature and a deep understanding on Human Physiology and health based on God's wisdom in relation to how the human body functions, as depicted in the scriptures. By the grace of God, revelatory knowledge received through the study of the Bible with medical science application explains the emergence of this book as a supplement to the previously written ones. Life is full of mysteries and we often wonder why we are here. The God of creation made all things including us human beings who He intentionally selected, individually, with a purpose-driven plan for our lives. God determines when to be born, the places of our habitation , people we have to meet and even the date of our death. Since God planned our life before the foundation of the world, it is impossible to direct our own life without following His counsel. Any attempt to direct one's own lives leads to unnecessary stress and depression. By being sensitive to the divine guidance through the various means God directs us, we can become successful in this life. God planned our lives to be successful and this is only achievable if we can humble ourselves so we can be led, taught and directed. Stay blessed and enjoy this book.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to the Holy Spirit. The ideas expressed in this book can only be because of the guidance from the Holy Spirit. A few years ago, the thought of writing this particular book was planted in my heart when I was working in a hospital in Bangor, Wales.

Over the years the ideas required for the book have all come together. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity granted me by the Holy Spirit to get this book finally written.

    Chapter 1: Introduction

    CHAPTER 1

    Introduction

Life is full of mysteries and also full of troubles. As the Bible puts it in Job 14:1, ‘man who is born of a woman, is of few days and full of trouble’. By this you will think that becoming a Christian, will mean the days of your troubles have ended. Unfortunately, the Bible makes it clear that ‘many are the afflictions of the righteous’ indicating that even the life of the Christian is not exempt from troubles.

Given that life on earth is so much full of troubles and afflictions, a lot of wisdom is required to navigate through it. The question is how do we acquire the wisdom to make the right decisions. We will all attest to the fact that we have made mistakes of various degrees of seriousness at some point in life. Some decisions are made by instinct, by presumption, based on emotions or previous experience (either personally or other people’s experience). Sometimes choices are made based on advice, and depending on how much trust or respect you have for the individual, you proceed and action the advice.

It is obvious that we make choices in life without being sure whether it was the right decision or not until we see the outcome. Man’s life is therefore predicated on regrets and stressful/depressive moods because of unexpected outcomes. The Bible says that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23 ‘The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way’). This scripture shows how true/strong believers should not fall into the category of those with long-standing depression and anxiety. Thus, a so-called Christian who experiences chronic depression must therefore examine his ways and how much he/she trusts God to direct his/her life.

I strongly believe that God is the one who created all things including us human beings. The scriptures tell me that before he formed us, he knew us (Psalm 139:14-16) and that we were fearfully and wonderfully made by the Almighty God. In addition to this, God has uncountable thoughts and plans for our lives (Psalm 139:17, Jeremiah 29:11).

Dear reader let us look at Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end’. Based on this scripture, God who created us and formed us has amazing, precious plans and thoughts for us individually. In fact, the thoughts and plans that God has for us all human beings are great and we are all expected to be successful. There is therefore a successful, expected end for each and every one of us, and this is what God has pre-planned for our lives.

The Bible makes it clear that God created all things for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11), and is able to declare the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). Amazingly God made everything for His purpose and of special interest is the fact that He made even the wicked for the day of disaster. In other words, God will eliminate all evil and wickedness at some point, and their presence should not be a stumbling block to seeking God and ensuring our salvation. If God chose us from the beginning and made plans for our lives, He would have made arrangements for sure, to direct our lives to our destiny according to His divine will.

I am fully convinced that all humanity can be spiritually classified into children of God, and the children of Satan. Among the children of God a few have been chosen, who He has equipped to lead those He called so that each and every one of us can be effectively guided to the purposes for which He created us, as explained in the scriptures… ‘According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having PREDESTINATED us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, ACCORDING TO THE GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL’ Ephesians 1:4-5.

It is clear that God in his abundant mercies made provision for leaders in our life right from birth to teach, guide and direct our lives in order to attain a state of being holy and blameless before him in love. Since we were all born into sin (Psalm 51:5), we are naturally incapable of pleasing God, however, by trusting in Jesus, we begin the process of restoration according to the divine purpose and will of God Almighty, the creator of all things.

In my opinion, based on the scriptures, success can be defined as attaining the destination God planned for your life. This, therefore, implies that success is only achievable in the context of God’s plans and purposes for our lives. We should therefore stop setting for ourselves fantasies and weird goals based on comparative analysis of other people’s achievements in life. Success therefore as Dr. Myles Munroe puts it is dependent on purpose. Thus, a bird not making it to flight is a failure. A microphone that is unable to produce the sound intended by its creator is a failure, just as an apple tree planted and never able to produce apples is a complete
