Author

Ben Hamilton

Ben Hamilton is a former history teacher who's finally snapped. Now he lives mostly in a big black van called "the Beast," from which he roams the country, documenting what he thinks just might be the collapse of American civilization. The way he sees it, bored history students in future generations will have to study our embarrassing time period no matter what, so he might as well write some entertaining primary source documents for them. When not having wacky adventures, he lives with his extremely accommodating wife.

    Author's Note

This an excerpt from a longer book that I wrote after I witnessed the events of January 6th and interviewed other witnesses while it was still happening. I stood right next to the Capitol building and talked to people as they emerged, to try and get a sense of what really happened.

I’ve decided to give away the final 2 chapters for free, or as cheap as I can set it, in order to help get the truth out and combat misleading narratives from both the left and the right.

This is my conclusion about January 6th, based on my own personal experience and cumulative interviews of other witnesses. If you wish to read the full interviews, and get the full context, they are available for free on my website: www.chasinghistoryproject.com/special-features

Or you could always just buy the book it’s called Sorry Guys, We Stormed the Capitol, (and yes, someone really said that to me.)

Conclusion: What Really Happened on Jan 6th?

    So that’s it.

The history of one crazy day in my life, January 6, 2021. What seemed at first like a protest march, similar to others in my nation’s history, somehow devolved into Congress fleeing in terror while I interviewed people who punched cops and smoked bongs in the conquered Capitol Building. Then, just for good measure, I climbed down the side of the building to escape tear gas and spent the rest of the day scrambling to interview as many of the culprits as I could, before they inevitably figured out that what they’d done was, you know, a crime, and fled town.

I did all that, and I brought you with me, so you’d know what it felt like to be there. And now that we’ve reached the end of the story, it’s probably fair to ask ... what the hell just happened?

Well, I’m not just gonna leave you hanging. There’s an ungodly cacophony of competing narratives floating around about The Event, and in my humble opinion, most of it is distorted propaganda at best. So, before we go, I’m going to break down what I think really happened, basing my analysis mostly on my own firsthand experiences and interviews. So, let’s review the data we’ve gathered ...

When I got up that morning, many people had already told their loved ones they might die on January 6th; this is evidenced by my conversations with the Linebacker and Dominican Guy, as well as interviews I did on January 5th that said the same thing. Media reports confirmed the same trend of attendees saying goodbye in case they died. That’s important because unless they were planning a mass suicide, they knew in advance a big fight might break out. Lots of people showed up with weapons superficially made up to look less conspicuous, such as flags mounted on clubs, and many wore body armor and gas masks, although I must remind future audiences that last part is actually common in my degenerate time period, people come to political rallies in body
