Author’s Note

Even now that as the writing of this book, Trump is no longer the President of the United States and is a thing of the past, the tactics by him and his supporters remain to be a part of the conversation and our lives. Trump may be out of the White House but the aftermath of his influence on millions of his supporters and his continued attacks on our country remains.

The Trump presidency has been something that in one way or another, one we will all remember. It has been a series of events that will have a profound impact on our nation for years to come, and this is not something that any of us can deny. The ways that he has behaved during his time in office are something that the people of this country will never forget, and this is a reason why I wrote this book, to remind people who he is and how his actions will have a lasting impact on our nation, our values, and on each and every one of us who live in this great nation.

One of those things that brought me to write a second book on the man known as The Donald and the people who support him are the set of tactics known as The Trump Playbook. If you are unfamiliar with this playbook, I will catch you up to speed throughout this book and the pages you are about to read. The pages in this book speak directly and in great detail about this method used by Donald Trump and those who support him and show people just what this playbook is and how it has impacted our nation and politics for the last several years.

Writing this book was something that I thought long and hard about being that the political culture as we stand today is divisive, intense, as well as dangerous. I did however find it necessary thing to do as today at the time of writing this book we are days away from the end of the most chaotic time in American history with the most destructive man to ever hold public office being on his way out of town and decency and humanity about to take over.

I have directly been impacted by this president and his actions over the years and while his supporters say that I have Trump Derangement Syndrome, this man has had a profound impact on my life and the lives of my fellow Americans and I feel that I must speak out about it and what these years have been like for me and so many others as we are forced to put up with the things I will describe in this book.

We all have had to deal with the deflection, the denial, and the blame over the years that Trump held office from him and those who support and enable him and for these reasons I feel it is important to write yet another book about this man and the tactics that he and his followers use to defend his reprehensible actions.

It is my hope that people will use this book as a reference point to look back at the Trump years as what they were – chaotic, insane, and flat out divisive. The second thing that I hope to accomplish is to bring people together so that we never have to experience the chaos of the Trump years ever again for as long as we live. I feel that if I get through to people just who these cultists are and what they have done to our country, then I have done my job.

Introduction

November 8th, 2016 is a day that that will go down in history as one

the darkest days in American history, and this is for good reason being that it is a day that our democracy was dramatically changed and not for the better. This was when Trump somehow used his friends in foreign governments to help him accomplish the impossible and steal the election from Hillary Clinton and thus become the next President of the United States.

This was dark because for the next four years he would go on to radically and fundamentally change the makeup of the country we have always loved and been proud of. We learned a lot about our nation on that day and in the days since we learned even more. It was revealed to all of us that this was not the country that we have loved for so many years and that if we did not do something then the future of our nation would forever lost.

If you have been following along then you will know that the Trump presidency ended when he lost to Joe Biden this past November and as a result, we were saved from four more years of chaos, lies, and the destruction of our democracy. Still, we have a long way to go before we become the nation that we were pre-Trump and, in some ways, we may never be that country again.

The division created by the 45th President of the United States will take a long time to undo because as we know, just because Trump has left office, his supporters remain and are as loud as they have ever been since the beginning days of the Trump presidency. This is a problem as in many senses, we have become two Americas during the Trump years and that will take time to undo.

The first book that I wrote on Trump was named Welcome to Trump’s America and it touched on the first few years of the Trump presidency and what he represented while in office and even before running for office.  This second book on Trump focuses on his legacy and the tactics of denial, deflection, and blame that he and his base use to defend his behaviors and policies.

This second book will focus on this playbook that is used by those in Trump world and how these tactics add to the divide even more than already exists. Trump and his followers love to play the blame game and point the finger at what others do. They never take any sort of responsibility for what they do and always deflect to what others are doing.

Just because Trump left office that does not mean that Trumpism has left America. Trump has plans to possibly run in 2024 and his children have their very own political aspirations and then we have the MAGA base who remain loud. These reasons are evidence that even as his time in office has ended, the relevance of him and his supporters has not.

The last four years have been devastating for our country and while it was such a great thing that he lost in the 2020 election, he and those who support him remain a problem and continue to try and take down this country. These things cannot be denied and throughout the following pages of this book I will go over just who these people are and just how their tactics and the playbook that they use to defend Trump and their agendas.

The way that the playbook has an impact on how we unite as a nation and move on from his chaotic presidency should concern us all and should be reason that we never allow this man or anyone like him to ever hold public office again. The tactics that I will discuss in this book are nothing new for those who have listened to Trump speak for the last several years or have debated with his supporters, but they are should always be called out.

This is what I am doing with this book. I discuss this playbook as well as aspects of the Trump years and show the ridiculousness of the Trump base and how they act when presented with facts and the actions of their guy.  I feel that this is a book that shows just who the Trump side is and what they support and even in the post-Trump presidency,
