A Nation Of Sheep Will Believe A Trump

About this ebook
In the book, “A Nation of Sheep Will Believe a Trump” the author Arun K. Govil enumerates many reasons including The Dunning Kruger effect, which was named after psychologists Justin Kruger and David Dunning, for why sheep mentality people are more susceptible to be influenced by certain news outlets, fake social media posts and racially divisive rhetoric. Based on research, he explains that many such people have a blind spot that makes them overestimate their knowledge, especially in those areas which are alien to them. They believe false narratives and conspiracy theories and feel that they are armed with the best of knowledge and can argue with anyone about it. In fact, they are either misinformed or under-informed about the problems around them and are unaware of it due to the blind spot. These Sheep mentality people are willing to deny what the rest of the country calls reality.
A Nation of Sheep Will Believe a Trump analyzes the disparity in political knowledge of American voters and depicts that the current US constitution is of no help against the dangers posed to American democracy by ignorant voters and politicians.

Introduction
A picture containing text Description automatically generatedI have been a patriotic citizen throughout my life – ready and willing to give my all for my beloved country. But seeing past four years of Trump presidency which exacerbated the polarization in our country and his Republican supporters who blindly and faithfully follow his every command has saddened my heart and soul. People have stood by his side, highly educated or not, through thick and thin, believing every false narrative, racially divisive rhetoric and conspiracy theories promoted by Trump and his right-wing media. I have taken a greater interest in politics since Trump started his presidency because I felt concerned for the survival of our democracy and, I am simply amazed at the sheep mentality of millions of Americans who live in their own misinformed reality.
The United States of America has been seeing a bizarre time lately, likes of which have never been seen before. Millions of people, including elected officials have become misinformed & disillusioned and have supported a man unfit for presidency. Who do you think is responsible? President Donald Trump has given the nation nothing but tears and arduous times. He has sinned; he has made mistakes, and he has said senseless things, namely including building a wall,
rigging the elections, not accepting defeat, forsaking the pandemic, and encouraging and being involved in racism firsthand. We have lost the respect of all major nations around the world. Is that what a president should be like? Is that the kind of person we want to represent our nation in front of the whole wide world? I believe not. In this book, I have elaboratively highlighted and discussed the many setbacks that this nation has encountered because of Trump. I have also explained how people do not receive the correct facts about his policies and motives. Believing in that false information, many people have been there with him, neglecting the right and doing the wrong, ignoring the distinction between childish behavior and a mature one.
With facts and figures I have explained how a large portion of population can have sheep mentality and not be able to realize it and thus select an incompetent person for the most critical job in our country. The presidency is a major deal, especially when it comes to the most powerful country in the whole world, and we need to have the correct person in the office just like we would want an experienced pilot flying our plane.
Yet, people deemed him fit to be the president and believed that he could be the change
that they so badly longed for. But as soon as he came to power, he had made many of his supporters realize that they could not have been more wrong. Countries have turned into monarchy and dictatorship due to the ignorance and witlessness of the populations, and that was what happened to the US when Trump came into power. From intimidating media to threatening people who stood against him and from calling his opponents with immature names to being the most prominent racist, he had lost the privilege that he never even had in the first place.
In this book, I will explain the parallels between Trump and Hitler, and don’t worry; I have statistics and history to back me up on my points. Moreover, he had made America vulnerable to enemies, namely including Putin. The man who came to power with the assistance of racial discrimination and white supremacy, bullying, cruelty, and prejudice was somehow followed and advocated by millions, and I refer to those people as ‘the nation of sheep,’ for they hold the mentality of ‘sheep’ and are nothing but a millstone on this treasured country.

A picture containing text Description automatically generatedSuppose we, as a nation, are not vigilant and watch who we put into top office. In that case, the resulting corruption and incompetence could lead to a government of tyranny and ineptitude, desiring to control the nation as a dictatorship for perpetuity. Voters should not be ignorant and pay attention, be interested, and involved in their government. Just because you do not pay interest in Politics doesn't mean politics will not take an interest in you.
As he lost the elections of 2021, Donald Trump claimed prior to the election that he might not accept the results of a rigged
election. But the claims were rejected shortly after by the Supreme Court and other federal judges due to lack of any credible evidence. But let me ask you; what if he had defeated Joe Biden in the elections? What would have happened if he were made the president again? This book discusses that if Trump had defeated Biden and become the US's permanent president, there would have been tremendous damage to the country’s long-standing democratic institutions and independent free press. The country would have continued to become more unintelligent and dumber and thus increasing the number of sheep in the country. If Trump had continued as the president, the nation would have faced another four or more years of dictatorship; the people of the United States of America would have lost all transparency in the government, faced increased racial division, become more isolated in the world, and lost its leadership role, unending political, social, and economic instability in society.
In a democracy, every vote counts; every voter counts. You can prevent the country from political, social, and economic volatility by choosing the person most mature and suitable for Presidency. You can protect the nation, but you need to be smart and not driven by rage. You must have the ability to determine what is really fact and what is a false narrative.
This book will summarize how we can modify the current constitution to ensure that no president in the future, regardless of who controls the Senate or Congress, or Supreme Court, can ever change democracy into dictatorship. You can alter the sheep mentality
and mend it into an outlook that is suitable for you and the nation’s thriving democracy. Change starts from within, so why not change yourself and await the betterment of the country? With this book, you will precisely know how to trigger and accomplish that change.
Chapter 1:
Fragile Democracy
A picture containing text Description automatically generatedJ
anuary 6th of 2021 will go down in the history of the United States as the day which tested the country’s long-standing, proud democracy. On that day, the laws, the public resolve, and the institutions that limit presidential power in the United States were stretched to their limits, but fortunately, they survived, an attempt by the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, to continue to stay in power after losing a legitimately conducted election.
The insurrection of the Capitol building by Trump supporters, no doubt an event that will be remembered for generations to come and is comparable to what had happened on August 24, 1814, as the War of 1812 raged on when invading British troops marched into Washington DC. They set fire to the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and other local landmarks.
It was not until 1817 when President James Monroe was able to move back in a reconstructed white house, whereas, fortunately, this time, it was short-lived. The main difference here is that in 1814 it was British foreign forces, and in 2021 it was our own citizens. It is by no means a conclusion that the US democracy passed through this crisis unscathed, so we should just move on, let it go, and forget about it. It had already been weakened during Trump's presidency, and although the coup that day failed, the country has been left even more vulnerable and divided. On that day, Trump's believers and supporters, including Senators Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and other Republican operators, did everything possible in their power to overturn a legitimate election, except for surprise from Mike Pence, who until then had been submissive and obedient to Trump but informed the nation that he would not go against the U.S. constitution and comply with the limited role mandated by the Constitution in the process of certifying the electoral college votes for the legitimately elected president Joe Biden by the majority of the people.
Perhaps for the first time in four years, Mike Pence put his country’s interest before Donald Trump’s directive. Had Pence sided with Trump, the coup would have had a better chance of success, and we might be living in a totally different world If the people of a nation are not vigilant as to who they put into the top government offices, the selected leader and his corrupt actions can lead to a state of tyranny and ineptitude, as this leader may move to control the nation in his grip and establish a dictatorship in perpetuity, which could adversely impact people’s lives.
Voters must not be ignorant. They should be interested and involved in their government’s administration. If people do not take an interest in politics, it does not mean that politics will not take an interest in them. If people lack the innate intelligence or the learning necessary for objectively judging political candidates, they will be driven by their passions, herd mentality, or short-term interests. People need to be well informed and smart enough for politics, or else they will invite incompetent and authoritarian politicians with bad policies who will destroy their democracy.
It is astonishing to see that over 70 million voted for Trump in 2020. Even though there is factual evidence that during his four-year reign, Trump abused his power, sucked up to dictators, weakened the country’s long-established institutions, welcomed the Russian
